Pirate Bay Founders Jailed for 1 YearAnyone else see this  Is a year in jail really the right response  Isn't it a bit like jailing Toyota if some old lady knocks down somebody in one of their carsI don't agree with illegal downloading myself, did it once but the quality of most of the stuff was so awful I swore I wouldn't do it again, but even to me this seems a bit of an over-reaction. | | | | 4 | 3949 | by Binokular 4/24/2009 5:11 AM |

Saturday 18 April is World Record Store Day - while we're all familiar now with Road Records in Dublin (especially with the drama of their near-closure), are there any worthwhile record shops in the rest of Ireland Not just high street stores but shops that sell records by local acts and help create a sense of community among musicians and fans in their area.Personally I can't think of any examples apart from Good Vibrations in Belfast. I was on Patrick Street in Cork and spotted F.M. Records -... | | | | 3 | 3250 | by aidan 4/17/2009 4:59 AM |

As all Irish musicians/bands/song writers will know ... getting their package together on a shoe string budget is a tall task . Rehearsals, Equipment , Gigs , CDs, Websites etc ... A decent promo is another tool many would love to have to showcase their tracks ... But there is just not enough people out there filling this gap . And if there is they are charging prices that most cant afford . How can bands etc get access to these film makers and vice versa . We are crying out for this gap in t... | | | | 4 | 3689 | by PeterQuaife 4/17/2009 3:58 AM |

Has anyone got an idea as to why there are so many exciting EPs and lovely extras produced for the Japanese market
My personal favourite was getting Radiohead's Itch ordered in to my local music shop when I was in school. I thought I was very elite and exciting altogether.
To quote Wiki - 'Itch is an EP by Radiohead, released exclusively to Japan on 1 June 1994.'
I know you can get Itch now from Amazon and such, but does anyone know any Japanese releases that still don't get release... | | | | 1 | 3367 | by Binokular 4/14/2009 2:24 AM |

I was just talking on another thread about how I saw Robotnik supporting Operator Please a few months ago and how he was great and all. Most times I try and and miss the support act, in the same way that I try and miss the trailers at the start of the film, because generally they're terrible but they're are rare occassions where they nearly top the main act. So does anyone have any memorable support band stories | | | | 14 | 5729 | by aidan 2/17/2009 8:28 AM |
