Does anyone have a CD-RW drive for a Roland VS1680 that I could borrow Mine failed this morning at a very bad time (80 of the way through Stoat's album)
I'm a trustworthy fella, I'll take very good care of it. Anyone over on thumped.com will vouch for me. Thanks very much

Haven't bought any live bootleg CDs for a while, but I decided to buy a bootleg of the Bruce Springsteen gig at the RDS in May and confidently strolled into a well known second hand CD shop on the quays which always had a great selection of live bootlegs.
To my astonishment I was told that they can't sell them any more as new legislation has been passed which outlaws the sale of bootlegs. WHAT THE F**K Live bootlegs were always illegal but the cops used to turn a blind eye to them....anyone... | | | | 5 | 2241 | 10/23/2003 12:59 PM |

										What's easier - Positive or negative songs?  5656  18

										Hi all,
Just an idea from an earlier post I was on, a question for all you song-writers out there, do you find it easier to write a negative or positive song Or even somewhere in between I personally find it much easier to write melancholy negative type songs (usually with some positive quirks in them though). I find that the more positive songs I write, I dump a lot of them 'cos they usually end up sounding too corny or something. I think in everyday life, people find it easier to ... | | | | 18 | 5656 | 10/22/2003 10:49 AM |

So in the spirit of new discussions.......I hear the Slate is no more, not sure if I liked it or not, the content was pretty piss poor but it did give me a laugh here and there. What I did respect though was the fact that they (whoever 'they' are) got off their arses and put their energy into it and put it out there, and kept it free... no mean feat in this day and age. So were there any Slate readers here Will it be missed What did you think of it | | | | 5 | 1919 | 10/22/2003 10:25 AM |

So things are going to change around here & gig announcements will no longer be dominating the discussion board. Good! This board has been as boring as hell these last couple of months.
Anyway, I need your help folks, I've got over 20 songs written that I want to get recorded at home. I'm going to get an 8-track digital recorder for this but I must admit my knowledge of such devices is very limited.
Can anyone recommend a decent model(s) What's the best and why I'd appreciate any advice.

If any of you are like me and for some strange reason enjoy slow, sad, almost depressing music then you may already know San Francisco's Red House Painters. Front man, Mark Kozelek, has set up a side project called 'Sun Kil Moon' and they are set to release their debut 'Ghosts of the Great Highway' next month. Early reviews are saying that this is some of Kozelek's finest work and will allow for much corn munching. | | | | 0 | 1502 | 10/16/2003 9:54 AM |
