What about Blur and Super Furry Animals?

anybody who say Oasis at Witnness a few years back could not possibly be excited about new material. That was one of the shoddiest gigs I've ever seen. I think Oasis have a lot in common with Robbie Williams, in that the people who go to the gigs do so to engage in a giant kareoke session, rather than to appreciate live music, which is meant to be spontaneous.

Are Pulp still together? I recently started listening to their stuff again and it has aged really well.

no, but they should be. 'The First Time' is one of the best songs. Ever.

The one band I miss from the mid-nineties is The Verve. Pity they split.

Belatedly heard the new single for the first time today. Embarrassingly awful. They really have lost it completely. Amazingly, Marlay Park is sold out. Whatever next.

The video has completely thrown me off the song. On first few listens it sounded good but don't like it at all now.

i think the only act who came out the other side of the "Britpop" fandango intact were Blur and they did so by walking as far away from it as u could possibly get. in terms of smart, sussed, forward-thinking music, damon albarn has been the most surprising person of all to be associated with that kind of thing. if anyone had told me when he was jerking around in the "Country House" video that the same man would produce albums like Mali Music, Gorillaz and "Think Tank", i'd have laughed out loud. now, i can't wait to hear new Blur stuff and i hear that the new Gorillaz album is amazing. Oasis? More of the same. No thanks! music should go forward not backwards

I heard park life for the first time the other day and i have to say. Bar one or two tunes it's a complete pile of s**te. And f**k all this s**t about music moving forward. Good music is good music. Lyla is ok, could be better. But i have heard the other stuff off the album and it's top drawer. I'm sick of the whole "if it's popular i hate it and i'm gonna slam it attitude" from people. It's hardly bleedin westlife. It's a good tune, could be better, but good none the less.

u better check yourself there stone. i dont think anyone is slamming Oasis because theyre popular - theyre slamming them because the band are making tired, unexciting, bland, overwrought, boring, plodding, pedestrian (need more words) music when they were once capable of so much more. its not a case that we hate our friends when they become famous but we hate our friends when they become boring cliches and start to repeat themselves and no, it's hardly "bleedin'" westlife. u're right there, i'll give u that.

yeah but it seems Oasis bashing has become "cool" and everyone is jumpin on the band wagon. Going on the trend of things even if they released another definitely maybe or what's the story or something of that calibre people would still say it's s**te just coz it's oasis.

very true, on the other hand some people around here would have you believe that you must have a degree, be PC and be friends of the earth etc. to be likeable. If I want to watch an intelligent quiz on TV I'll sit down and watch University Challenge, if thats the sort of thing I like, and If I want to listen to good rock music I'll stick on Oasis or whatever. Rock music has never been Pc and never should become such. So what if Oasis aint brain boxes, its even more impressive in my opinion that they managed to achieve what they did considering they background which they came from. That was all part of their appeal, it was almost a throwback to the punk DIY ethic. It also goes for many acts in Rock N Roll throught the years. I don't hear many people on here complaining about the Sex Pistols being thinck or whatever the useless argument was. Its Rock n Roll people !

Just heard the new oasis album and it's a cracker. Lyla is nothin to go by. It's different, and fresh. I'd say a return to form.
