Every bank holiday Monday in the GPO Nite Club in Galway they have a sh*te night where the DJ's play the worst music in their collection; Eifel 65, Aqua, Riverdance etc. Since September my indie night in the drum (the second room of the GPO) has being switched to a Monday night so next week I'll be playing my first ever rawk sh*te night and I need your help people. I need music that I would never normally play but that people would still recognise and more importantly still enjoy in some guilty fashion. I'm thinking cock rock, hair metal, nu-metal, any metal in general, novelty bands, 70's MOR, power ballads, driving rock anthems, air guitar classics, anything that pops up on compilations that are advertised on Eurosport at three in the morning and the kind of stuff that they used to play on Atlantic 252 back in the day. For example; 4 Non Blondes AC/DC Aerosmith Alice Cooper Alien Ant Farm Aslan Bad Company The Bangles Barenaked Ladies Billy Idol Blink 182 The Bloodhound Gang Bon Jovi Boston Bryan Adams Chicago Chumbawamba Counting Crows Crash Test Dummies Crazy Town The Cult The Darkness Dead Or Alive Deep Purple Def Leppard Dire Straits The Divinyls Electric 6 Europe Extreme Foreigner Free Gary Glitter Good Charlotte Green Day Guns N' Roses Huey Lewis & The News Incubus INXS Joan Jett Kiss The Knack Lenny Kravitz Limp Bizkit Los Lobos Lynard Skynard Men At Work Meat Loaf Metallica Midnight Oil Monkees Monty Python Mötley Crüe Motorhead Mr Big New Radicals Nickleback No Doubt The Offspring Phantom Planet The Police The Proclaimers Puddle of Mudd Queen Rainbow Ram Jam Reef The Revs The Saw Doctors Scorpions Soul Asylum Smash Mouth Spin Doctors Spinal Tap Starship Steppenwolf Sum 41 Survivor Team America Tenacious D They Might Be Giants Toni Basil Top Loader Toto Transvision Vamp U2 Ugly Kid Joe Van Halen Vic Reeves & The Wonder Stuff Wheatus Whitesnake William Shatner Yes ZZ Top Anyone got anything else to add, or any particulat favourites out of the list or is there anything there that's just too sh*te to be enjoyed on any level. Remember at all the sh*te of the pop/dance/hip-hop variety will be played in the next room so I have to play music of the guitar driven variety.

Anything, anything at all by Duran Duran. The intro to Wild Boys is genius and of course Rio, girls on film.

...yeah on reflection i was picking my faves from the 80s folder, i can definately do worse than that... Phil Collins - Easy Lover Lionel Ritchie - All Night Long Cheap Trick - The Flame ...actually this is a great song but all power ballads should qualify! also, get your hands on the Top Gun soundtrack, anything goes there, Playing It With The Boys!

I haven't heard anyone play Duran Duran in years other than myself at an ipod party. Although the Gardai did arrive suspiciously soon after to stop it.

I saw a guy in the chipper last night wearing a Quo denim jacket. Best merch ever. Anyway, "Total Eclipse Of The Heart".

If you're gonna play Deep Purple, it's gotta be "Black Night", I love that tune. Nuffink wrong with either.

there's plenty of non-sh*te stuff on your list, stroller - like benni and nerraw, I like duran duran too. on which note, play a bit of adam ant - I remember seeing him on TOTP at age 7 (I was 7, not him) singing 'puss in boots' and thinking 'wow, now THAT'S a pop star!'. I looked up the video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hj31TRWCYsQ&mode=user&search= ...now how could people not dance to that?
