that was a fantastic festival in my eyes.
i need to go to sleep now though.
lovely weather - lovely atmosphere - well laid out and organised, saw no trouble, saw nobody even crying.
in short, i'd a brilliant time, one of the best festivals i've been at in ten years.

    well done EP!
    now sleep.

Great weekend, saw an awful lot of music, too tired now to make a decent post. Highlights were probably Tapes n' Tapes, Tilly & the Wall, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Pet Shop Boys.

I had a deadly time at this - again. Missed a few people I wanted to see including (sob) Gary Numan due to being absolutely mashed on friday night but it was worth it....kinda..!! Highlights for me was The Rapture, Sparks, Gang of Four (oh my god!!), New Order and a Dance DJ duo I'd never heard before called Mode Selectah (i think) - there were some seriously evil banging bass lines!!!

Am still in a kind-of daze, sitting at work, sorry the whole experience is over. Had a fantastic weekend, survived the rain and the 3 hour trek from Dublin on Friday. Rufus was definitely the highlight yesterday, he was brilliant, he played solo on piano and guitar - The Gay Messiah, The Art Teacher, Cigarettes & Chocolate, California, Rebel Prince, Grey Gardens, Hallelujiah, all superb. Saw lots of music, dEUS, Massive Attack, Devendrha Banhart, Dub Gospel Choir, Bloc Party, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Jape, Archie Bronson Outfit, Glen Hansard solo, Paul Noonan solo, Tapes and Tapes, Broken Social Scene, Long Blondes, the Blue Nile and more… Lots of running around the place and was disappointed to miss PJ Harvey cos the tent was jammed, kinda stupid she was in one tent and Damien Rice in another and both places packed, and the main stage was empty. Never made it to the Comedy tent or cinema tent for any of the matches. Didn't see any trouble but heard about the tents being robbed. Was in the red campsite and there was no problems but it was kinda hard to find a spot to camp on Friday afternoon. Thought the security in the place were sound. Might be able to put more thoughts together on the whole thing later in the week but at the moment this was even too much of an effort...

Yeah saw your man getting up alright, would take a bit of balls to hop up there on the main stage and play a song! I think he'd met him teh night before in Whelans though or something? Devendra does that at all his gigs I think, remember the gig in cork he did anyway but no one would go up. Broken Social Scene don't really get them, find them even a bit boring live dare I say it. Thought Jape were great too, have they an album out? Ended up seeing them twice, much better on the Friday on Big Tree cos by saturday his voice was fecked. Some interesting covers along the way too Laura Ibizor - Crazy Blue Nile - Strangers in the night Semifinalists - I wanna dance with somebody Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah

Yeah, Devendra Banhart did the same thing last year in The Village with some dude in the crowd. Sounds like you all had a great time. Was watching some of it on the goggler and vowed never to miss an EP again and to get my tickets in good time for 2007. Sleep now, my pretties :-]

I think I may have freaked Lisa Lobsinger out when I met her and Charles Spearin from BSS after Yo La Tengo (who were great). In my defence I'd been drinking heavily for much of the day (is that a defence?) Paraphrasing here: Me: Wonderful gig. Her: Thank you, I'll always come back here you guys are just the best crowds. Me: Oh I bet you say that to all the natives. Her: No, I mean it, we were in England last week you're way better. Me: Yeah right. I think she knew I was teasing, but if the band never come back here again then sorry everybody. Anyone catch Saul Williams? Holy s**t, he was intense. Redneck Manifesto were amazing on Friday night.

Ah here - so what if there was posing or not.... the dude got up and played his own tune in front of a bigger crowd that he's ever played in his life in front of a performer he's mad into.... thats deadly. You just sound bitter dude! Maybe next time.... I thought the YYY were cool but her voice can be pretty dodgy at times... still tho they rocked to f**k. Yer man Brian Chase is some drummer. Holy f**k.

Yea he was playing with one hand - but not all the time as far as I can tell. He's amazing.... like I always thought so but seeing and hearing it live was deadly. Anyone at Gary Numan....? I was soooooooo upset I missed that!!

he wasn't very good. sounded like he might be alright till he opened his mouth. Devandra and the band looked like they were laughing at him too. the crowd were kind but I don't know why.

i was kinda sore that devandra didnt play an acoustic number given that his first 50 albums were just him on the guitar.it was still savage and he came across as a realy sound guy .still would have liked too see him play at the hop or sight to behold ...
