I thought Gang of Four was the absolute highlight. Surpassed all expectations. Saul Williams was amazing too. Yo La Tengo great, but real pity they didn't play more old stuff (just played 3 songs that WEREN'T off the new album i think? Little Eyes, Tom Courteney, Sugarcube) Yeah Yeah Yeahs pretty good too, what was the story with the drummer's hand? Broken Social Scene are MUCH better when they're restricted to a 1 hour set! Quite enjoyed them. Great show from some locals too... Giveamanakick, Messiah J & The Expert, Jape, Warlords of Pez - all superb.

Brakes were deadly. No one was at it. They clashed with loads of big name stuff; strange to put them so late because generally speaking, they're not well known. if you like the record, you would have loved the show. hot chip played a pretty flithy set. Very good fun. Even manage to drag a few of the Bodytonic pill martyrs away from their home for an hour.

I didn't venture into the Bodytonic tent but even just in passing it was enough to give me a headache and temporary hearing loss. Joking aside how did people spend the weekend in there without ear plugs or something that volume would do serious damage.

Anyone see Spank Rock? Love the tune "Sweet Talk" and have been toying with the idea of picking the album up based on that alone. So, how were they live? Bassy, funky and profane?

Yes, yes, yes, amazing. I got up early on Sunday morning to go to the poetry slam in the Leviathan tent in the expectation that he'd be there. His plane was delatyed though. He played a great set later on though. Antistar, I saw Mogwai, they were great. I don't get how all you people are saying such nice things about the distinctly average performance the Yeah Yeah Yeahs gave. Una is right, Delorentos were good.

Yeh, saw Mogwai.Excellent as usual.Played a good bit of the new album.Nice and loud!. Saw a good bit of Deus before them.Got a great crowd and where pretty good.Massive attack where so much better than i thought they'd be on friday night.Really good light show aswell. Saturday was a busy one.Started with Jim Noir.Really good vocals. The singles sounded great aswell.Broken social scene where stunning. As where the Super furries on the main stage.Thankfully the sun was out for it.Then watched the match.Went to New Order after.Very dissapointing.Just think they're past it.Super Furries acoustic bingo was a good laugh.Caught a bit of Groove armada and then the endof 2 many DJ's. Good day of music. Quieter day on sunday.Started with the semifinalists.not bad at all.pretty funny aswell. Elbow where outstanding.Guy Garveys vocals are incredible.wasnt sure they'd pull it off on the main stage, but they did! The Rapture where fairly good.some of new songs sounded decent. The Earlies where amazing in foggy notions.Had to be the most people i've ever seen on a stage that size. Thought the basement jaxx where awful.cant believe they get away with headlining so many festivals.3rd time seein them.never again. Quality festival again.not as good as last year but didnt expect it to be.Only complaint would be the lack of urinals.ridiculous!

I thought Mogwai were awful, walked out after ten minutes. Went on the basis of recommnedations here without hearing any of their stuff. Not sure how you could call YYY's performance average. Call it woeful, awful etc but average?

So who did you think was good if what everyone else liked was awfull ? and what was it that was crap about the yeah yeah yeahs ? was it the brilliant drummer ? good songs ? or the utterly fantastic Karen O ? Maybe it was Brilliant songs ?was it the brilliant songs ?

I thought the YYY were good - but her voice can be really dodgy at times... so much so that its quite obvious that the guitar is cranked up to compensate on loads of occassions. They're a deadly band, they're all deadly musicians and she's a great front woman - but if you can't pull of the singing when you're the singer.... well that is a little bit s**t. Still tho - I wouldnt say they were awful - just not the amazing band they are musically on record.

It was my first time to see Mogwai live and they blew my mind, they were fantastic. The Rednex were great too. One of my highlights was the Dulsori Drum Project, what a start to a festival.

It was the brilliant songs Pol, spot on. Calm down, each to their own. Someone asked what was mogwai like, I thought they were awful and someone else heard they weren't any good.

The Yeah Yeah Yeah's have written one truly great songs, Maps, everything else is completely meh. It was the performance of that one song that dragged their show up to average, I was bored for the rest of it. Howling like a banshee and jumping around like a clown does not make you fantastic, if it did we'd all love that Brendan Kilkenny dude. Nerraw, do you like post-rock at all?

If I knew what post-rock was I might be able to answer that :)
