I know that there are few people here who have expressed an admiration for Secaucus NJ's finest so they might be pleased to learn that over a year and a half after it was released in the states "The Meadowlands" (best album of the new millenium) will be released in Europe in a few months on Lomax records. Now comes the best part, they'll follow it up with a European tour around September.

It's a pretty good album alright. I got a copy of it last year and wasn't let down.

Had a listen again last night and it is bloody ace but the best of the millenium? I don't think so. I would vote for Wilco YHF.

You Sir are either misguided, a liar, or just someone with different taste from me.

They played 3 dates in England last week. They'll be back in January/February, the reason for the delay is that the guy who used to do their European bookings passed away in September and they're just finding a new guy. They only played those dates becasue the NME gave them a 9 and named it album of the month and they wanted to strike before the iron went cold again.

Unfortunately there's no Irish date but they are playing 5 dates in the UK at the end of feb/start of march. Rather sadly I'm going to 3 of them. Meadowlands is getting re-issued in the UK next month as a special extended version with extra tracks that had previously only been available on the very first US pressing of the album.

Don't think that's on the cards. Yer man from Wind-Up records seems to be really holding a grudge against them. But if you don't have it (or Silver or Abbott 1135) then send me a mail and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Unicron. Have a burned copy of it myself and it's pretty good although i prefer Meadowlands. I see original issues are going for big bucks on e-bay etc. $50 +! I think The Wrens are a testament to hardworking musicians who do it cause they love it even though they've been eaten up and spat out by the music industry machine. God, wouldn't a Dublin gig be super.

It would but I'm really looking forward to this UK trip. They usually get 4 or 5 people out of the audience to play backup percussion on "Boys You Won't" so I'm hoping to get to do that one night.
