I see that the kilkenny rhythm and roots festival is coming around again - if it's as brilliant as last year (the double-bill of the hot club of cowtown and the willard grant conspiracy was fantastic) then it's highly recommended - a great way to find out about new music, deadly gigs in small venues, in a lively city. this year, ray lamontagne is playing, amongst other interesting acts. www.kilkennyroots.com
