I just had to share this with y'all. It is a review that was submitted today for the site and it was also the first ever submission by this writer. The review was of a recent gig by a new band in one of the venues in Dublin. It however won't be published on CLUAS (as we have a policy of not publishing reviews of new acts by new writers, more details on this policy here http://www.cluas.com/forms/new_writer_policy.htm),

Anyway, the review submitted is provided below for your enjoyment. I have left the punctuation and spelling exactly as it was when submitted. I have only removed information in the review that would help you identify the band. I note that the name of the writer is also the name of one of the members of the band, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt….

The writer has been informed that we won't be publishing the article, and why.

    REVIEW SNAPSHOT:
Band XXX were the classiest act of the night, opening with strength and soul. Playing for their first time in Dublin these boys from ZZZZZZ play like vetrans. Bringing a new meaning to 'Rock anthem'. Dublin needs to hear Band XXX

GIG RATING: 9.5 out of 10

    FULL REVIEW
Five guys from ZZZZZ, second ever gig in dublin, and they played with enough energy to fill the point!!! the gig was awesome, unfortunately they were playing first and the advertising was spelt (mispelling of BAND XXX's name), but they got up and showed their quality. Their sound is awesome, real loud riffs with such beats. that drummer is something else, his speed and technique is the best i've ever seen and the voice on that singing lad was so strong and tuneful that you'd never go back to hearing anything else.
the energy they put in to this gig was incredible, most bands wouldnt give it 110% like they did, so awesome to see real passion and determination. they opened with (song title A), such a solid song, it invades your head for the whole day and its worth it!! the middle bit was filled with energy, the music they made was infectious, no one could keep their toes from tapping. (song title B) was class too, that song is deep, "(excerpt of an incredibly deep lyric)", its like a poem in a deep lake or somehting, still waters i guess.
their album is amazing, its in my cd player all the time and i'm not the only one. i cant wait till more hear the BAND XXX sound, they're playing next in (PLACE Z) on (street YYY) on (a certain date), i'm well looking forward to hearing them again.

Good to see that Eoghan has stepped in to restore Cluas' credibility that only good and fair reviews get published.

If it was submitted by someone with the same name as a band member it wouldn't have happened to have been the drummer would it? Boom Boom.

was worth trying i suppose! that some sort of mood alterating drug was in the persons system at the time of writing is the only conclusion I can draw from it! now i appreciate a tiny aspect of an editors job! hey for "reviews of reviews" check out stoatmusic.com, it even has ratings!the lads are brilliant, with a CD coming out this summer

Hey Milky ,its just a bit of fun I dont thinnk anyone means any malice by it? I think there is a bit much of this type of carry on though. People constantly complain about the back slappery of it all and we can all be guilty of it to a degree, this is taking it a notch above though!

Well Spotted there. Yes indeed our Guitarist (Declan Carey) is also the main man in Scribble... You're the first person to even notice
