I've been looking at a few international festivals and I think some are well worth the travel & cash just for the acts on offer. Oxegen has yet to sign up any real killer acts, some good ones so far, but have a look at three of the others abroad....

I'm just wondering if anyone has any constructive opinions on these events that will soon be occuring in venues around the country. Do they actually have any effect on bands that play them Do judges go to each of these events and take notes on the bands or anything Are they something that it's totally worthwhile for a band to be part of, or are they just shows to highlight the bands that are already doing quite well and push them and them only forward.
i don't know... any comments.

I am looking for information and thoughts on how to get a radio show. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to try this and would appreciate any feedback you guys have. I know there are a few subscribers here who do have one so maybe they could share their experience I was on the Dave Fanning mixtape thingy a while back and got some praise from the head of 2fm and think I could be good at it. I'm not looking to make a career out of it, just something interesting to be involved in.

Those of y'all who got today's Sunday Times may have read an article in the Culture section about the country songwriter Mary Gauthier who is supporting Willie Nelson when he plays Dublin later this year. I strongly recommended that if you want to hear what first class songs actually sound like on an acoustic guitar that you check out some of her albums.

I was checking thru the gig listings at a place downtown from me. I was shocked to see The Wonderstuff are going to be playing soon. Last I heard from them was about 6 or 7 years ago IIRC and it was a breakup announcement.

I have some dates solo/acoustic in the UK in late May and would like to add some Ireland dates onto the end of the tour. I am looking for some clubs, cafes, coffeehouses in and around London. I know of the Whelan's type venues, but seeking something smaller.
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
