Well, I'll answer this one at length, but I also specialise in winding up people like you, and it works every single time, fish - barrel - dynamite. I mean its a discussion board, and yet, when the discussion goes in a direction you dont like you throw your toys in the air and start whining and then there is a bunch of random personal abuse. But at the end of the day, all I care about is that the discussion board stays entertaining, readable and quotable, which it is, and if I have to be the target of someone's ire in the process, so be it

Yet, strangely, John Cale never wrote a song called Sleep Don't Weep ;) You understand that the song titles thing is, er, tongue in cheek, right?

look we all know you don't like Damien Rice - you hijack every thread with a trace of his name and start ranting and mouthing off. i don't like him or listen to him either but i still don't feel compelled to incessantly bleat on about how s**t he is. I just find this anti-rice crusade of yours a bit odd and very tiresome. that's all.

Have to say I kind of agree with Ctrlaltdelete about the amount of vitriol stemming from Jules and others on this thread. I'm a relative newbie, but the nature of the remarks come across as quite damning and would nearly make some people afraid to post what they think. Also, very little's been said about the music - it's all about the man and the song *titles* for chrissake! Yes everyone's entitled to air their opinions, but if you've made it clear that you hate an artist for whatever reason, and have stated that, several times, it might then be ok to stay a little quiet when others are discussing the music in postive/objective/just other light. I run a forum myself that's busier than this, and it's strongly negative posts like Jules' (and others too) which can really make it go off, create ructions on and off line, and send posters away. a.

really, it's not hard to find evidence to back up the premise that bush is lacking in intelligence - it's not exactly a controversial claim these days - which is probably why that phony (and funny) iq report wound up in the newspapers. i could point you to a host of video clips and interview transcripts, but i'm sure you more than capable of finding them on your own. some dodgy track titles alright, but in the end of the day the name of a song is probably the least important thing about it. ctrlaltdelete - the real reason for the rice-bashing is that some people just don't like him. and there's no point in attempting to have a discussion about that, because, as rev jules and dera said, there's too much interest in trying to wind people up, or in exploring the insides of cheeks, to make discussions of topics like damien rice worthwhile, or even possible, around here. by the way rj, i've got another bear song for you: cross-eyed bear, you'd love it!

interesting point yoshimi. when i first started posting on here i made the mistake of defending damien rice, which didn't go down too well at all. things got a bit out of hand in my opinion, and if i wasn't such a stubborn f**ker, and if it wasn't for the fact that there are plenty of interesting, fair-minded people using this forum too, i wouldn't have stuck around. i think you just have to make allowances for certain people, and don't think twice about saying what you think. the more people using this forum, with their own voices and opinions, the better.

Haha. Bush is a genius. I'll be sad when he steps down, one of the world's greatest entertainers, yet forced to go in his prime. The US needs to change the law and let him stay another term. I don't mind Rice at all, don't own any of his cds. Best of luck to him
Bush's dad drove past me in a little caddy car surrounded by a 4 man goon squad detail from the US secret service on Friday. He waved at me twice, I automatically waved back, which is probably a testament to how my mother raised me becasue giving him the finger didn't even enter my mind when it happened.
