For a start, thanks to some freshly unearthed draconian legislation, all bars on site stop serving at ten. That's no fun.

i feel your pain benni, but it can be resolved with a 3 litre Country Spring bottle full of Buckfast.

dont think u'd need a parking ticket..as all tickets are camping anyway!, last year i just parked in the aloted field, ended up sleeping in me car due to the lateness of getting a ticket. so cant see any problems this year!

it's being policed a bit more vigourously this year. The DS are going to be there from thursday, there's a court on site for summons's and stuff, and secret shoppers are trying to snuff out anyone selling illicit booze. So be vigilent. But ignore me, i'm just a moany cassandra. It'll probably all be grand.

Yeah it says on the site to be carefull about buying tickets as all tickets will be scanned on the way in. As for parking i parked in there last year and there was no hassle and no ticket needed. Is this through about the drinking stopping at ten??? Someone told me a good idea was to get a 2litre box of wine and take it out of the box and place it in a handbag, they generally only feel the bag and you have your wine for the day. Last year my girlfriends bag never got searched so we just brought in our own drink to the venue, the security seemed really nice aswell, all from scotland i think.

Gardai issue travel advice to Electric Picnicers this weekend Gardai have warned those travelling to Electric Picnic that there will be no access into the campsite site before 9am, Friday 1st September.   Superintendent P.A. Lyons stated "Anyone trying to gain access to the festival campsite before 9am will be turned away. The Garda Traffic Management Plan for the Electric Picnic will come into operation at 9am on Friday 1st September 2006.  Under no circumstances will patrons be allowed entry to concert site prior to this time."   For details on how to get to the festival check out www.electricpicnic.ie and www.aaroadwatch.ie

Is it too much hassle to rip a stub off these days ? This scanning of tickets plays into the hands of touts. A perfectly good looking, legitimately purchased ticket, is useless once scanned.

Is it open to the public? It could draw a bigger audience than the Damien Rice stage.

Depends how you look at. Means that you haven't got a hope of getting in with a fake ticket. Knowing that, are you willing to buy a ticket off a tout that may or may not be legitimate? I'm not. Which may result in less business for the touts thus less touts buying tickets. Hopefully. I really like the line up, good mixture of bands.

maybe not, people might be slower to buy tickets from touts now On another note The Boy Lest Likely aren't on that timetable hopefully its just an omission. What time do reckon most people will there for, I hate getting to a campsite late when its nearly full, i hope to get there for 12, I'm told a lot of Dubs are on half days and won't be coming down till after lunch
