i'm not a big U2 fan myself, but i think that their two best albums are Achtung Baby and Zooropa both nineties albums, but yeah i see what you're saying about them. I'd say they put on a much better show than the Stones though, from what i've heard its all a bit jaded/cabaret

I agree with you. I think Actung Baby is their best album and my favourite U2 song Stay Far Away So Close is on Zooropa. But Zooropa is twelve years old. My point wasn't that U2 haven't made anything decent since the 80's, my point was that they haven't made anything decent in recent memory.

No-one's milking it as much as U2. They haven't done anything decent in years. They should just do what the Stones do and concentrate on touring their back catalogue as opposed to promoting their sub-standard new material. And in all fairness while they knocked out a few good tunes in the 80's there are countless artists from that decade who were making superior music to Bono and Co; The Pixies, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Talking Heads etc.
agree with ya 100% Stroller ! All you have to do is look at the sort of people who still buy every U2 single and love em cause they are 'ours' and all that s**t, same f**kers have their U2 Cds next to their Robbie Williams and their Aslans, so f**k em I say. As for the Stones being Caberet ??? I saw em when they played the Point last and to say they were caberet would be a huge slight on caberet !

Again I'd have to step in as someone opposing this debate and 'boldly' say that I think U2's last two albums are actually quite good. Of course they will not beat the albums that made the band big but they are certainly worth hearing, enjoying and seeing live. And I certainly believe that just because you don't like their latest album doesn't mean that the band are milking the market on the success of their previous records. The added bite that made U2 big is still there in their songs, just maybe not as influential.

so rumour has it anyway, and mavers was a junkie so it would make sense, and you can definitely read it into the lyrics. Although until recently i thought one of the lines was "she pulls my chain" which could have suggested something else...
