Spurtacus ...have you seen Pink Floyd's 'Pulse' ....I've seen it on video...don't know if it's available on dvd or not (the sound quality on it is awful...but what a gig!! )
Visually very very stunning....... don't remember any problem with the audio quality either (on vhs anyway)

The sound kept dropping in level on the one I was watching - it wasn't the machine but might have been a dodgy copy... ...there's a section in it where a plane actually flies across the crowd and crashes into the stage...the whole thing is so OTT it's hilarious. It's a lesson in lighting! But watching them play is amazing...not a note out of place and they make it look piss easy...bastards!

for a really good take on the irish blues and folk scene of the 60s and 70s, read "Irish Folk, Trad & Blues: A Secret History" by Colin Harper & Trevor Hodgett. picked it up at xmas and its a fantastic read. would make a great DVD if anyone was so inclined.

Agreed, which was why it was such a lost opportunity for 'The Blues' series.

Where did you pickup the Rockpalast dvd ? I live in the US and I don't see it on amazon.com and rorygallagher.com is a disaster. Cheers ... Mark I noted someone else listed the Later .... dvd's. Must try to pick them too at some point. Good stuff.

The 'Later....with Jools Holland' dvds are great and can be bought from play.com. There's about five of them but I would recommend 'Giants' and '10 Years'.

Thanks. And to add my 2c, I have The Beatles - Anthology / Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour / U2 - Rattle&Hum, U2 go Home, Elevation, Best of 90-00 / Various - From a Whisper To a Scream / Led Zep - Led Zeppelin / The Charlatans - Just Lookin' 90-97 Not a lot but a couple of great ones. 'Irish Tour' floored me the first time I saw it.

how about plastic donkey dvd zine? writing for Plan-B magazine, Everett True called it his favourite dvd zine and remarked "every street should have one". it's local and non-profit and out fairly regular, but very limited. also, plastic donkey is releasing the european dvd version of the san fransisco based TV show "burn my eye" in about one months time. it features deerhoof, numbers, crack:war, locust and more but will be limited to about 150 copies. it's good and well meaning and as far as i know it's a first!!!
