if a band wishes to pay me to wear their shirt and advertise them, or if i get it free then I'd wear one. the idea of buying a tee shirt to advertise someone else it crazy
I dont understand the logic of this. Does this mean that you dont wear any clothing which has any sort of branding on in it because you do not want to advertise those brands ?

Lads don't worry about getting slagged, when your heading off to a cool gig the people that are slagging you are going home to watch all the s**t soaps that start from 7 through to 10 and then go to bed. Great life that, i think you'll find there the sad bastards and deep down they know your cool.

Once in a previous job, a colleague mentioned he was going to see Garth Brooks at Croke Park. I burst out laughing, saying 'good one, good one', thinking this guy had a keenly dry and ironic sense of humour. Imagine my surprise then to see him looking back at me with a blank and vaguely bemused expression on his face. He actually WAS going.
I had a similar experience when I was DJing last week. A guy came up to the booth looking for the usual stuff Doors, Franz etc and then he asked if I had More Than A Feeling by Boston. I started laughing thinking he was taking the p*ss. But God love him, he was serious. He got really offended and walked off in a huff.

RE: T-SHIRTS: A T-shirt is a great way to say you're into band. It's certainly better than a tattoo. But I much prefer gig t-shirts, it communicates certain possible truths about the wearer. Ask yourself what you make of someone who is wearing a Cradle of Filth T-shirt (particularily the "Jesus is a..." T-Shirt), versus someone who is wearing a "Bob Dylan at Slane" t-shirt(1984 was it?). Depending on your perspective, either one can be viewed as silly rubbish. So its easier to spot a member of whichever sex you prefer whom you might have something in common with. (...or is that a bit freudian?!)
