Right! Totally forgot about Fables...I really should dust off my vinyl sometime. I'll not be at the gig as I'm not a fan of outdoor gigs and I've seen REM plenty of times before. Hey Dromed, whats the Fischerspooner stuff like. Is the hype to be believed?

Vent....I'm torn between hating Fischerspooner and adoring them - I really can't decide....so I have days I love them and all the neighbours know about it...and days I hate them and curse them to the ground for being such media whores.....the fact that they've made me react like that makes me like/hate them even more. They are a full on media assault....in every sense, but they've retained something, I don't know what it is...they're 'arty' I suppose ..in a pure white trash kind of way. Like Warhol making art out of glamour and seeing art in the living, in everyday things - you can knock that for being tasteless s**te but out of the trash comes something quite striking in it's honesty. Am I makin any sense here? They don't seem to have any real musical integrity, as it were, but they make no excuses for that. I'd imagine they'd name drop Liza Minneli circa Caberet. Live they are about showmanship, a performance to make your jaw drop by all accounts, and they like to shock. At first I thought 'what a pack of yank 'jerry springer' w**k but I took it home, listened to it and thought #1 is a god dam dirrrtttyy electro album, it sounds amazing in a club. It's defo worth a listen. Tell me what you think of it if you get a listen.

That first Sigur Ros album is pretty amazing. Has antone seen the video for one of its songs in which two young schoolboys fall in love? The music climaxes PERFECTLY with the visuals

Appetite for destruction wasn't guns n' roses first damo, thay had released "Lies" before that. REM's "murmur" was the finest debut in my opinion. Q2

Guns 'N' Roses debut album WAS Appetite for Destruction. And I'm glad it finally made the cut. It's still a powerful album today. It was released at just the right time to blow away all those Glam Rock bands that had been stinking up the charts like Poison, Motley Crew and Bon Jovi. This album had a raw edge and spoke about drugs, prostitution, love, hate etc, while the rest of the Glam Rock groups were singing about blonde hair girls and fast cars. This was like a rock album for grown ups. By the way, ‘Lies’ contained songs from a pre-Appetite for Destruction EP called ‘Live like a Suicide.’ This EP contained live performances of a bunch of songs but it wasn’t an album. Glad to see Pearl Jam - ten make it too.
