									| Nerraw,
Can you give this a bit of context by clarifying for other board members if this is:
a) Q's top 100 or worst 100 albums of all time? I presume best, but - hey - you never know these days...
b) Which edition of Q is it from? A recent one? 2004? 2005?
c) Is it the top 100 of the Q readers or of the Q writers?

									| Oooops sorry.
it is this months special editon Q voted for by their readers. Best albums of all time.
Apologies for the confusion.
Just two bands make up the top 10 (radiohead thrice, Oasis twice) |

									| I am absolutely sick to the pit of my stomach of f**kING BEST ALBUM LISTS!!!!
Did the editorial team at Q actually sit down and comeup with this? Could you imagine the meeting:
Ok, guys. First issue of 2006. Any ideas?
I know. Why don't we do a 100 best albums of all time- as voted by the readers!!!!
You're a f**king genius!!!How do you come up with all these incredible, idiosyncratic and completely mind-bogglingly original ideas??? Have a raise!!
And so we get Radiohead not once but twice, at 1 and 2! Great band but that's f**king ridiculous. Plus all the usual suspects, Nirvana, Beatles, blah blah blah....yawn.Are we still going to be having these lists in 2010 and 2020 and so on. Will it feature the same bands? What is the f**king point them?
Don't know why I'm getting worked up about it becaseu such lazy, crappy, unchallenging, sub-standard crap you expect from such an abysmal rag as Q. I actually bought a recent issue becasue it had the God-like Ricky Gervais but I ended up getting depressed at the fact that some people actually like this magazine. It's actually worse than f**king Hot Press and that's REALLY saying something.

more importantly, will we still have the same christmas carols in 2020? is it possible to write new ones? have we lost the ability, like ostriches and flying? damn you charles darwin! |

									| radiohead at one and two. id like to say such a boring idea as a top 100 was predictable, but that just crap, to have Radiohead at 1 and 2 shows that the voters are not a large cross section but more a small collection of ardent radiohead fans which only serves to make such a list even more irelevant than normal |

									| I think it's a horse-s**t 100. However, it is voted by the readers of Q magazine so that kind of explains it. Polls are a double-edged thing though. While the nerd in me loves reading year-end lists sometimes they can be a bit stifling. I never take them too seriously although they are good for a steer towards something new from time to time.
Wasn't there some controversy over an NME poll for the best of 2005? I'll try and dig out the article. The gist of it centred on the aforementioned poll not actually reflecting what the readers voted for. It was streamlined and edited by the NME staff to reflect "popularity." That's what happens when you suck record company c**k. |

									| its a pity theres isnt a music mag that avoids Suckin "record company c##k" but that doesnt just cater for music geeks and snobs by concentrating on "underground" bands and dismissing bands once they get commercial success. cant imagine it would be too difficult |

									| They fill up plenty of pages full of nice pictures, it's practically written by the readers and provides a nice bold magazine cover. It's just lazy. But they sell. Q used to be half decent. I've no problem with end of year polls cos they do point me to some great stuff sometimes.
Speaking of lazy, I like Uncut, like their free CDs, but this month is pushing my patience with yet another Dylan cover and a big spread on why 66 was so great. Seems every major music mag is playing it safe these days. |

									| yeah i used to enjoy q's top 100, the top ten usually wrote themselves, but the collector in me was always interested in how many i was missing. would it be a better idea to only allow albums outside the last X number of years? to avoid over-rated albums geting in just because they are current |

Turns out that wasn't true apparently, the list that website got a hold of was a previous draft or something.
