The nominations are no longer a mystery....place your bets!!

For my money it's a fairly disappointing list lacking in imagination! No mention for Holy Roman Army, 8Ball (brilliant album), Patrick Kelleher and others. The inclusion of Laura Izibor and Swell Season merits the 'wtf?' response for this year.

    Adrian Crowley for the win.

And So I Watch You From Afar - And So I Watch You From Afar
BellX1 - Blue Lights On The Runway
CODES - Trees Dream In Algebra
Adrian Crowley - Season of the Sparks
Dark Room Notes - We Love You Dark Matter
The Duckworth Lewis Method - The Duckworth Lewis Method
    Julie Feeney - Pages
    Valerie Francis - Slow Dynamo
Laura Izibor - Let The Truth Be Told
The Swell Season - Strict Joy

Judges: Martin Burns (Sunday World), Tony Fenton (Today FM), Roisin Dwyer (HotPress), Josh Clarke (i105-i107), Cathal Funge (Phantom FM), Aoife Woodlock (Other Voices), Chris Wasser (Evening Herald), Eva Stack (Spin 103.8), Rob O'Connor (Beat 102-103 Waterford), John McMahon (2FM), Padraic Halpin (Ragged Words), Sophie Gorman (Irish Independent)

No surprises, indeed, but a strong list.

As for bets, anyone see any starting prices yet? Realistically it's probably between Adrian Crowley (yay) and Bell X1 (nay) for the win, Dark Room Notes (yay) and Swell Season (nay) possible challengers and Duckworth Lewis if it goes to a casting vote.

What! Where's "No line on the horizon"?!?! Nah, only kidding. Well if that crew of judges vote like the CLUAS writers then Dark Room Notes will win it (they being the highest ranked Irish release in the writers top 40 of last year).

    Paddy Power odds are here

They're very good odds for Duckworth Lewis, possibly worth a punt.

Aye, Duckworth Lewis at 8/1 is good value though Adrian Crowley at 6 is a nice price for a real contender... and Julie Feeney the 16/1 rank outsider? I'll have some of that!

But somehow I think Patrick Power Esq. will get his way: Bell X1 have daytime airplay and (slight) night-time indie-cred and that's a good portion of that judging panel who'd see it as a fair compromise candidate.

Those odds have come down, when I originally posted the link DLM were 16/1

There we are - that's where the money is going. Early shoppers got a great deal there. I reckon their price will come in even further since a lot of people fancy them as a compromise choice too. Follow the money!!

I'd be happy enough with that list.  Was a big fan of both CODES and Dark Room Notes last year.  A little disappointed that Pearse McLoughlin's "Busy Whisper" didn't make it but sure ah well.  Not sure what Laura Izibor is doing in there mind...that album had a lot in the way of vocal talent and very little in the way of everything else.

And So I Watch You From Afar and CODES are my favourites. Still quite partial to Dark Room Notes aswell.

Latest odds from P. Power have a fairly bunched field with ASIWYFA and Valerie Francis at the head of affairs, Adrian Crowley and DLM well-placed but Julie Feeney starting to go out the back.

Valerie Francis has been picking up some media attention lately, hence the flow of money towards her - has she timed her run to perfection?
