What's the story? Are these already allocated or is it first come first served?

First Come First Served. They are giving out by security walking down the queue before the gates open & NOT after the security check as in years gone by. This seems to stop people skipping to the top & getting thru quickly as they 'look for friends'

the pit pass allocation was a bit weird. at radiohead it was first come first served with bands given out in the queue. At daft punk the passes seemed to be given out at random by arseholes of security. Tried to go in the same entrance as we did for radiohead only to be told that it was now closed and to walk around to the side 'main' entrance. eventually blagged our way past, only to find the queue exactly where it was the previous night and got passes for the pit.

I came into radiohead from the bus entrance and saw security guards talking very flirtatiously with two women. They managed to get pit passes. I went up to the security guard and asked if there were any left and if i could have some. "Ah sorry those were the last two". Give me blonde hair and a sizeable rack and I probably could've gotten the shirts off their backs as well. I hate the system at gigs, particularly the security side of things where any random skin head is permitted to do the job. A good few are grand but its those that mare the whole thing. Garrumba

i ended up at the front of the queue of Radiohead. at 5pm just as the gates were about to open the security were still handing out pit passes to anyone who walked up to the front of the queue and asked for one.
