Went along to see Kerbdog in Fibbers friday. was really looking forward to it. 4 support bands and doors at 8 so I wandered in around 9 hoping to miss the early stuff but to be in nicely for Kerbdog aroun 9.30/10. So 10 came and went, 11 came and went 12 came and went and still no sign of em...had to leave at around 12.15 or so due to other commitments, but on the way out i copped a look at the times on the sound desk..it said 1.15 for kerbdog to come on... what a joke... no mention of a late start on the posters... pretty Peeved at this to be honest. now im not sure what time they eventually came on, but when i was leaving another of the support bands was kicking off..taking their time to set up an all... anyone else there for this

i was there. it was really late but i thought it was obvious from the posters that it would be. it was advertised all along as a 5 band night so if you work it our beforehand that would mean bands at 9, 9.50, 10.40, 11.30 + Kerbdog at 12.15. fair enough it went later than this but you thinking Kerbdog were going to be on at 10 is a bit ridiculous seeing as the doors were at 8 and the 4 supports would be on stage for 2 hours without counting setup times + the inevitable late start/delays.

sorry i just realised you didn't think Kerbdog would be on at 9.30/10. but the main point of my reply still applies.

i was told they were doing it a favour to Fibbers 'cos they're trying to relaunch it as a venue or something

Right...struck me as being an odd choice. That said, I haven't been there since about 1995.

Thats the problem.. the support bands were on for too long and were taking the p*ss with the amount of time they were taking to setup. Yes, 5 bands, but thats why the doors were opening at 8 surely. Its not too much to expect that 4 supports bands could have been on and off by 11 even. Yeah, my expectation of 10..is a tad unrealistic, but 11 is reasonable. As a matter of interest, what time did they come on at

that used to happen all the time in the Hub in the early days. There would be three or four supports playing and by the time the main band came on, most people had left to get the last bus or whatever and the place emptied. Estimated times on stage should be listed on all posters - they do it in most places clubs in the States, so why not here? At least you know what you're in for then.

i think it was 1-ish. bit of delay during the gig too because Cormacs amp was overheating before the grand finale of JJs Song. two guys had to get up on stage with fans and stand pointing them at the amp.

ah yeah well it was good fun. the same as the other 3 times i've seen them (2 music centre shows + oxegen). about 40 people going mad at the front and everyone else standing clear. 'didn't even try', 'sally' + 'jjs song' played last.
