anyone else heard this? really cool and captivating torch songs. features antony (& the johnsons) on 1 or 2 tracks but the Joan lady can hold a note herself.

I saw her open for Rufus Wainwright last year. I thought she was s**te, worth giving a second chance to?

The album does seem to be drawing universal praise. I'll pick it up at the weekend and take it from there I think.

anyone go to this last night?... was much better than i had expected, given that the album didn't do it for me - think she's better on her own without band... ...nina hynes is getting kookier by the gig, as well... which is cool by me ...and paul o'reilly played some really rather lovely stuff
