Transferring iTunes music to another PC

    How can I transfer my iTunes music library from one computer to another (Mac)?? I basically wanna put my iPod music onto my new computer.

    You should be able to import it from your iPod onto your new mac. In iTunes, under the "file" menu there is an "Add Folder to Library" option You should be able to browse to your iPod ( which should show up as a drive on your mac) and then select all folders on the iPod. Now, thats how i assume it should work, but i think there is a trick to having your ipod show up on the mac as a drive, but then someone else on this board with more experience with pods should be able to explain it more

    I can see the music in my iTunes, but i cant actually import it!! Stinger!!

    you can't do it using itunes. to prevent people copying huge amounts of music onto other peoples machines, apple never implemented such a function into itunes. they also index the folders uniquely, making it very difficult to pull things off the ipod in drive mode. there are plenty of third party solutions. copypod is cool for mac, as is podutil. xplay rearranges the folders to look like windows explorer and is pretty easy to use. google for one of those and you should be sorted

    Try senuti or go to downloads.com and search for ipod. scroll down and should be something called ipod access 3.6

    if you look in your music you should find a file called itunes music library .xml and you just drag that into the new itunes and that tells your computer where all your music is and whats its called, hope it helps

    I can't drag that file to a new computer!! Could I put it on a disk and copy it? It cant be that easy though, can it? Anyway....I'll check out all those links, thanks dudes!
