You've just missed the Saw Doctors' "the cure". Which is a good thing. Missing it, that is. Not a good album at all at all. Saw them in olmypia few weeks back and while the old songs rocked and gave me the saw docs concert buzz (despite having a really bad cold and sneezing throughout the concert, so much so that the people near me actually moved away) the new ones were dire.

Great thread Gar, sometimes it seems that a lot Irish releases slip in "under the radar" as it seems that the music scene here is mainly word of mouth rather than having a UK style scene with a NME/Kerrang! type mags shoving stuff down our throats. Both types of scene are good or bad depending on how you wanna look at it. Definitely looking forward to that new CH-1 single, it's been a long time since was this excited about an up and coming Irish band.

Pony Club will have a new album out soon. Get it because Uncut are going to be all over it in the new year. www.ponyclub.tv has some great samples, and to get in the Christmas Spirit there's last years version of 'driving home for Christmas' which would make Chris Rea spin in his grave.. He's dead, right? Dave Couse of Couse and the Impossible will be releasing another single from 'The World should know' . It's his best work in about 15 years and nearly as good as ' I am the greatest '. www.Davecouse.com usually has some MP3's but it's down at the moment as it's being upgraded, still the forum there is great crack.. The Frank and Walters just released their B-Sides album, it's good but more for fans, but there is a Kevin Shields remix on it which is worth the money alone. They've a record proper coming out shortly too..www.thefrankandwalters.ie. And Finally, U2 have just completed their latest album. ' Love you to Debt ' is an exciting mix of 'a rock band rediscovering rock but still playing pop'. Co-written with Andrea Corr

Any news regarding upcoming releases from The Immediate, La Rocca, Dudley Corporation, Mighty Stef, Cathy Davey, Lucas, Neosupervital, The Chapters, Redneck Manifesto, Large Mound or The Blizzards? As far as I was aware, they were all getting ready to work on new material. I picked up a Rough Trade sampler today and there's a great song called 'I Wish You Well' by Cara Dillon on it. I'd be very interested in a new album by her. P.S. Punchbowl......Chris Rea hasn't croaked yet. He's due in the Olympia soon enough.

Regarding one of the bands Gar mentioned Lucas have an album ready to go and even launched it in the Roisin Dubh a couple of months back but there is no word on it being distributed.

the immediate's album was recorded a few months ago, they'll be releasing it through fantastic plastic next year but in january they're releasing a four-track taster E.P. with 2 songs from their forthcoming debut album and 2 home demo recordings. there's four of those home demos on their myspace - http://www.myspace.com/theimmediate the rags aren't recording to my knowledge but the last 2 eps are well worth a listen - http://www.myspace.com/therags looking forward to the upcoming new stuff from dry county and ch-1. humanzi too, haven't seen the video yet so i don't know what they sound like nowadays. the mighty stef should release more singles if the ol' psychofest feedback is to be believed. and the delorentos are pretty damn excellent too so pick up that ep ;D
