Didnt realise the new dEUS album was out already. Gonna pick it up over lunch. Anyone heard it yet ? Should be good. As should the gig.. Caught tom barman in that Hotpress venue which is now spirit a couple of years back. Quality

Yeah i have the album, and while i like it, it is different from the previous stuff. There seems to be a little less energy coming from the band but the songs are still good just not as manic as previous efforts. As regards the gig, looking forward, i've never seen em, so thats another one i'll be able to tick off the list.

Heard it refered to recently as 'middle aged pop' with enough experimentation to keep the kids happy..

Yeah, picked it up on sat. Have only given it one spin so far, and first impressions are that its mellower then previous stuff. But I expect that to change over a few listens

Had a listen on Sunday, it's good on first listen, seems more coherent than their previous albums, but not as patch on Ideal Crash. Love the last track Nothing Really Ends but it sounds different to the rest of the album. I know it was on the Best Of thing. I didnt expect them to improve on Ideal Crash so I avoided any major disappointment! Gig should be good...

Nothing Really Ends is very lush and well produced... This is proably as it was recorded years ago for their 'Best of'!!!

while i haven't given the whole album a good listening yet i have to agree it ain't a patch on Ideal Crash for magic, 2nd track is very nice and there's a couple of groovy ones just after it. There should be enough there to keep me going back to it between now and the gig but i do hope they treat us to a lot of the back catalogue! Either way, lookin forward to the show.
