Late and all as I am with this (just back from hols), was anyone else at Glasto? A lot of people have said Brian Wilson was their highlight. Id agree. I was a Glasto virgin but now I feel violated in the best possible way. Any war stories?

Was at glasto , thought it was fab , but probably not as good as last year due to the line up and some stupid clashes that could have been avoided. For me the Brian Wilson was definately one of the highlights , The Zutons , Rodgriguez and Gabriella and the first half of Ian Brown's set and of course the silent disco - soooo much fun ! . Thankfully camped on a hill so no horrific stories to report ! Roll on 2007!!

Part 2 - damn I'm just starting to remember more .... oh yeah the John Butler trio ? (I think that's their name) were fab and the made the sun come out !! Anyone who starts a set with a wah wah pedal is a friend of mine ! Also Hayseed dixie were well worth catching , great musicians and great fun also. Coldplay were very good even though I'm not a fan they really got the crowd behind them , Low point , missing white stripes as from what I could see were brilliant. Saw some of Kasabian , not a huge fan but the crowd seemed to love them.

What an experience, got there early wednesday morning and the good times rolled from there. Loved that first night at the stone circle, that drumming was class, buying a djembe as a result. Musical highlights for me were The Zutons (first band there, that "oh yeah they have music here too" feeling!), Roy Ayers, R&G, Van and Brian Wilson. Really enjoyed Ian Browns set too, thought that the Las were decent, but not really that great, bit disappointed with them. At the top of the hill as well so didn't get flooded which was nice, good times all round though, cant wait to go back!

Yeah, fellow hill dweller meself. Survived without wellies. White Stripes were excellent and dependably odd. Got very wierd when marimbas came into the equation. Actually, anybody see Primal Scream? Slightly out of place....?

zutons, roots manuva, brian wilson, van morrison and taj mahal trio were all excellent, kasabian (from i can recollect-messy messy saturday-were pretty good too), babyshambles were a shambles, as were primal scream (didn't matter though). the drumming on sunday night at the stone circle was impressive and it really is an odd place in a great way. they were handing out cds, forgot to bag one..... sunday afternoon, sun shining, litre of cold white wine and brian wilson. excellent. pity its not on next year....

It was my first time, amazing festival lives up to all the hype. Great music and great fun. Some highlights White Stripes, Brian Wilson, Rufus Wainwright, Maximo Park, Brendan Benson and dare i say it Coldplay were pretty good too.

Hill dweller too. White stripes, Go team were the highlights for me and anyone who played in the glade, what a fantastic area. Spent a lot of time in the green fields area and missed a shed load of bands. Lost Vagueness was brilliant fun. Saw babyshambles who were god awful except for 'fvck fovever' where he managed to hold some sort of note. Interpol, kasabian were decent and really enjoyed primal scream despite them getting awful reviews. Great 5 days

The Primal Scream thing bugs me. People were walking away saying things like "best thing i ever saw, man". They band were totally off their faces, insulting the audience, calling them a "load of f**king hippies" and worse, Bobby Gillespie spent most of the gig slapping his arse at the crowd and nobody seems to have picked up on the two or three Nazi salutes he tossed out a few songs BEFORE he played Swastika Eyes. Plus, they were s**t! Yeah, rock n roll.

Have to agree. I saw them on BBC 3 and it seemed to me that Gillespie was completely s**t faced. He had to be escorted off at the end. Oh yeah, like totally cool man. b****x to that.

Yeah, he got pulled off and was saying "you want us to play one more or do you wanna see BASEMENT JAXX?" in a real sarky voice. The guitarist was a state! He looks about 50 with straggly grey hair, dressed in leather, gnashing away on a huge wad of gum (or his tongue) and staring wide-eyed and paranoid at the crowd. A bit scary on the big screens. Bit of a buzzkiller coming so soon after Brian Wilson...

Couldn't give a toss if he insulted the audience, he was off his face and at least it was real as opposed to the "you're the best crowd ever, we love you". I thought he had a point, basement jaxx closing the fest was a joke. Swastika Eyes was fantastic. I really enjoyed it

I guess its a matter of opinion but I think Screamadelica is class, their stuff since then, mediocre. Saw them in the SFX a few years ago and thought they were dissapointing.

have to agree, basement jaxx closing was really odd, and especially after primal scream. I went to see too many djs instead of ian brown, ryan adams didn't bother showing up. not sure why........ from what i could see the majority of people around us weren't impressed with primal scream at all....have to admit it was the first time i had seen them and even though they were a mess, i tried to enjoy it.... Brian Wilson's group though were the tightest group of musicians you'll see in a long time.

aye, brian wilson was probably the gig of glasto for me. Sweet sunny sunday afternoon, pear cider, nice herby smell in the air, good vibrations! went to ian brown to finish up sunday night, great vibe there too, especially at the start when he was playing all roses. Bummed he didn't do an encore, saw him come on stage with Mani then something seemed to happen, heard somewhere else that he was told he couldnt come back on, who the f**k are ya gonna wake up in Pilton?

I dont need anybody telling me "You're the best crowd ever". But I couldnt believe the contempt he showed to the thousands of people who decided to spend their time watching Primal Scream over the many other possibilities. I dont care if he's off his face, hes obviously having a better time than the people he's supposed to be entertaining. And as for "at least is was real", maybe you're right. The s**te performance was real, the disrespect was real, the Nazi saluting was real and the pathetic sight of a bunch of wasted forty year olds calling themselves (quote)"a punk rock band" and insulting a crowd of people just there for a good time was SO REAL.
