Just read that review there. I was at that gig - I basically wondered into Whelos waiting for the 'band' to finish up. My Jesus the thing that those lot created.... unwholley. I was talking to them afterwards - because I really needed help gettin my head around what I had just witnessed and apparently its 'noise metal' and the quest for the punk mentality of today - bollix in fairness it was the biggest load of s**te I have ever heard - It was just noise... that was it. Anyone else have the misfortune of catchin this lot?

Nope, but the name hardly inspires confidence. Speaking of gigs, 2 of my mates were at Oasis in Marley on Sat and told me afterwards they were really good. I met them before for a few pints in Taylor's and I never saw such a collection of drunk, ladish, Liam Gallagher lookalike scangers in all me life. Nuff to put me off....

I was there myself. for a band who are notriously Hit & Miss live, it was a definite hit. A Ronseal gig. I was very surprised by the amount a drunken skangers there wer in the place. Oasis seem to have the knacker crossover effect like Aslan. there was a nastiness in the air, I was just waiting for something to kickoff. Alot of people feeling uncomfortable ....

funny mully, a mate was at that mentioned that he saw 3 fights...pity. you'd think after wasting, sorry spending, that much cash people would, you know, try to have a good time! (note: being a major metal head in my youth and still getting slagged for it i couldnt resist but to point out to him that i was at the slayer gig a few weeks ago and there was a great atmosphere and no trouble!:) )

I went to Wolf Eyes, at the time I described it to a friend that I was at it with as "the least enjoyable thing I've ever heard in my life". I've since remembered that I've seen Havana Calling and they are the only band that I've ever walked out on in disgust but I did find Wolf Eyes hugely boring. My friends were talking to one of them afterwards when the Whelans club was on and "This Charming Man" came on, he said "Oh I love this song, don't tell anyone." That gig had the least appropriate between act background music that I've ever heard, Elliot Smith and Damien Rice.

Hahaha yea it was funny watching the big huge dude dancing to Disco 2000. They were nice n all but thats besides the point man - they were just making a racket and trying to pass it off as 'intellectual creations that require effort and thought' and the 'true punk mentality of non conformism' - Bulls**t!
