Was surprised at the level of talent, usually Battle Of The Bands bring out the worst in people. Lost were the best on the night I think.

Lost were very good . I really liked Ross Breen too . He was a little quiter than the rest so some peoples attension waned but if you listened his stuff was really good . I cant comment on Obsolete cause Im in the band . As for the rest not really my cup of tea .

I thought Ross Breen was a bit bizarre. He sounded like one of those weird kiddie song tapes you'd borrow from the library as a 5 year old. I was impressed with a few things from Obsolete; the quieter riffs, and some really good hooks, but the louder moments weren't very bearable. I really think the sound dude should've adjusted to levels on the vocals for a lot of stuff. EXCELLENT drummer from Obsolete, really, really impressive on that front.

Thanks Una . It was only our third gig back after a long stint off(2 years ) . Critical comments are always good . Sound engineer is out of our control and the Marshal guitar stacks dont really suit our sound on guitars especially when it gets loud . I have to say that we really enjoyed the gig . We have more work to do but will hopefully improve as time goes by .

ye deadly drummer alright, i thought that some of the little breaks that you did as a band wer f**king amazing, it sounds weird but it reminded me a bit of frank zappa or something, really obscure within normal songs. on a constructive note. the guitar was way too low so i couldnt judge properly but, i thought that more work should be done on the work between the bass and the guitar dynamics wise, and harmony wise. cause the records sound great on cpu, it didnt transfer fully that said it could well have been the engineer, u have a good strong voice tho! i thought yer man Ross Breen was the type of crap that should be exported to iraq, he has a great voice and the first song genuinely blew me away but after that it was the same inoffensive twee b****x that you usually get, with his beard he reminded me of Rolf Harris.

Thanks for your comments folks. Some people said we (Obsolete) sounded great the other night, but one or two of my friends mentioned the sound and reiterated what Una and Eoin said. Eoin, I think you're being a little bit harsh on Ross Breen. thanks again folks.

I know Eoin, I appreciate your comments, very nice indeed. I just thought Ross Breen was very interesting and I enjoyed his music a lot. But, that's the beauty of music, everyone has an opinion on it.
