hey to each their own Kierry, if you enjoy a certain artists music dont let what other people think take away from your enjoyment. Nor should you seek anybody elses approval I dont mean to preach, I just believe as a society, and not just in music matters, we rely too much on what others think. I like the Johnny Lydon/Rotten philosophy

ok this might be beyond the acceptable but "Dakota" from the Stereophonics is rather good. I cant stand yer man's nonsesical singing and lyrics in other work they've done. I was gobsmaked that he had to gaul to let a backing track play the solo to that one about the "wireless radio"(?!) at slane a few years back. but the new song has substance. there I've said it. Now the truth is out. I'm a but of an aould 'phonics.

I liked the first 2 albums, but the got very very stale. Seems the new drummer was the kick up the hole they needed. All they had to do was ask, a pretty long queue would have formed quick enough !

I had my own thread about that while back, I hate admitting it but it is a great tune. On the subject of American Idiot, I've got a died in the wool old school punk fan friend ("The Clash are the greatest band ever") and he insists that it's the best punk record in 20 years.

American Idiot is a very enjoyable listen, I've thrown it on alot recently. Track 5, holiday, is about my favorite, expecially the bridge ("the representative from California has the floor..."etc.). Very good play on words, no? Maybe I'm "underreading" these days and need to get a copy of soundings again to re-establish proper standards!ha

its funny though, i bought dookie when i still had acne, liked it, grew out of it, and now after my writing it off, its back. to haunt my acrid soul. acrid. soul. christ. anyway, luckily, the new thrills single made me gag, so all is right with the world.
