Always been a big fan of the Rev, they've got a very distinct sound...not to mention J Donohue's idiosyncratic vocals. 'Deserter's Songs'(98) is a truly amazing thing. If yr just coming to the band now, check out that album.

LOVE mercury rev. Such a great live band....I've seen them a few times. Jonathon (sp?) has such an amazing stage presence.......very charismatic....but I'm always in some sort of trance watching that band on stage. I wonder if he'll still use his ashtray that he has attached to his mic stand - with the smoking ban and all!!!!!!

Interested to hear the new record have it on route in the post. Suppose many people argue that they lost their bottle when Baker left/thrown out but I think "See you on the other side" and Deserter's.. were both genius. All is dream was a little bit patchy, yet still a good record by anyone's standards. Hope they are a bit more imaginative with TSM though. Hey, i might even do a review of it!!!
