I'm not a huge Dave Fanning fan, I like him at times but it annonys me when he keeps talking like an excited child without giving the interviewee time to respond. Ok, enough about time. Did anyone watch any of the episodes of The Last Broadcast show this past week? During the week, on different nights, I caught special episodes with Chemical Brothers, Elbow and Tom Jones (that's a scary mix if you put them all together). And then last night, there were some cool videos played along with an interview with Republic Of Loose and a great acoustic performance of 'Something In The Water'. Just wondering if anybody saw it!!!! And with the talk about a new Irish channel on the way later this year which will not include current affairs & politics, will it be finally time that Ireland gets a music show to be excited about?

I saw bits of the episode with the Chems and Elbow and I have another episode on tape but haven't watched it yet. I like Dave Fanning, probably just nostalgia for the days of "the rock show" on 2FM, but I'd still listen to his show on occasion. I gotta agree with you, Dave Fanning is the worst interviewer EVER. He asks questions that go on for ages, speaks a mile a minute, and answer his own questions (just like the days of the rock show then!). However its kinda entertaining to watch on the last broadcast, you can just see the poor guests thinking "huh?" with a blank expression on their face by the time hes finished! By the way, the acoustic performance that Elbow did in studio was pretty good, anyone else see it?

Yeah it was good, made me go fish out 'Cast Of Thousands'. Thought the ROL performance was superb though. Fanning is always at it. Tom Waits had to basically tell him to shut up during an interview. Sometimes it can be good but then sometimes he rambles way too much. The interview with the fella from The Libertines was terrible, your man must've been spaced out on something.

It was in an article on the front page of one of the Sunday papers yesterday. Two fellas are setting it up, one works for RTE now I think and their company is Kish I think. Anyway they will probably be setting it up on digital. But sure aint all television sets going digital later this year anyway? So hopefully they plan everything out right and deliver a better talk show, better music show, some good series', good movies and something else to grab the attention. Agreed with ya Pilchard about The Shield. It's the best thing about Mondays lately, even if this series isn't as great as the last. On tonight at 9 o'clock if anyone is interested.

The Shield along with Sopranos and West Wing is the best series currently on offer. Band Of Brothers was good and Desperate Housewives aint the worst. Jury is still out on Rescue Me though. I don't watch much tv, just the footy and good series'.

Currently loving the new series of shameless on chamnel 4 having completely missed the first one. Also enjoyed second episode of rescue me (I loved denis leary in 'the job' and met him last year when he visited the fire brigade) and the new hank azaria/ oliver platt show called 'huff' on tv3 which is like six feet under crossed with nip/tuck. Best show of recent years, however, has to be Oz from hbo. It's still shown on tg4, I think, and can be picked up quite cheap on ebay too. Also, next week we have new series of 24 and nip/tuck to look forward to. Aside from those, I've been watching Murder One on dvd. People might remember it from about ten years ago. It is based on one complete murder trial from start to finish and comes from the makers of nypd blue.

Yeah my folks are currently watching Murder One. I havent seen it yet. I wanted to get Oz for a long time but it is only on sale on Region 1 dvd which is a pain. Next thing to look forward to is the new season of Sopranos and when they finally release the fifth season of West Wing on dvd.

Shameless - 1st couple of episodes of 2nd series were a little ropey but the one tonight on C4 (which was shown last week on E4) is brilliant. interesting to note when the credits rolled that it was written by Paul Abbott, the 1st episode in this series which he wrote and u really can tell The Shield - awesome TV. Got the 1st series on DVD and its well worth the euros The Wire - someone lent me this on DVD at xmas. Very gritty US cop series set in baltimore. Hopefully RTE or TV3 will pick up on it Law & Order - jerry briscoe, class act!
