I got this idea from the Curse of Superman topic where Mutch stated that Mike Patton was his favourite front man. Mine would have to be Robert Plant. He had such a great voice and charisma in the good ol' days of Led Zeppelin. Don't know if we'll see his like again. Who's ye'r fave and why?

er, Mike Patton! OK so number two, the Boss. 4 and a half hours at Slane with one 30 minute break. Class. Jim Hetfield is there two.

Have to agree with Mike Patton. Also, would have to say Bono and Axl Rose and Jim Morrison.

Jim Morrison was good alright! I'm not gonna be that politically correct Mutch!! Anyway how many of ye have named females so far? But feel free to name a woman if you want as long as it's not Cher or someone like that!

Paul Weller or Joe Strummer, neither oozed charisma too much but they owned the stage

Kim Thingy? You mean Kim Gordon? Yeah shes great, but does Sonic Youth really have a front person as such? Thurston Moore takes lead vocals most of the time and Lee Ranaldo steps up to mike a lot too. Rocks other great Kim would get my vote. Kim Deal when fronting The Breeders (wot? not Frank Black?). More rock and roll than Mick Jagger ever will be. David Byrne for not being Rock and Roll and offering something far more interesting instead. Mark E. Smith (The Fall) for comedy value. Miss Kittin - Stretching the definition of front person again, but she has been pretty much the antithesis of faceless dance music, adding real charisma and personality to many an electro track. Front person of an entire genre rather than a single band. Ian Curtis/Bernard Sumner: Practically opposites of each other, Ian Curtis with that distinctive voice and intensity whereas Bernard Sumner often seemed like the ultimate anti-frontman adding to New Orders facelessness. No one could replace Ian Curtis, but still Bernard Sumner and the Rest of New Order were able to step out of the shadow of Joy Division artistically.

Axl Rose, Scott Weiland, Eddie Vedder, Layne Staley or James Hetfield PRE-rehab... But if I had to pick one outta them, it'd be Scott Weiland

The man, the god father of soul ... MR JAMES BROWN .... - GET AUN UP! If you are looking at an outstanding frontman Mr Brown stands out for me. Jimi Hendix was a great showman - The buring of the guitar, playing the guitar behind his head, smashing he guitar to bits... nice
