Erin Maiden - Irish Iron maiden tribute, and one of the worst tribute band puns, ever. Beatallica - Do beatles covers in the style of Metallica, very strange, but uncannily accurate in their sound. http://www.beatallica.com/ Nearvana - oh the punnage Pinhead - not a particularly great name, but a great Ramones tribute. Persuaded some friends who only usually listen to genteel civilised Coldplay type stuff to see them. They foolishly agreed, mainly cos it was free. Most of them are still in acoustic shock

Ha ha brilliant! Don't forget 'The Back Doors'. I reckon their lead singer actually thinks he's the reincarnation of Jim Morrisson.

I've heard of this band called "Hay-seed/Dixie" (AC/DC) who do covers of songs by bands like the Darkness, Motorhead, Black Sabbath et al but they do it to the sound of...well, it's hard to explain. Remember all the banjo style background music that where in all the chases in the Dukes of Hazzard, well, things like Highway to Hell and Ace of Spades are done to that kinda fast paced banjo "rock". They've got a cd out and everything. Very funny.

Yeah, its fun for a bit, though the novelty kinda wears off after a while. Two things about things about them really amaze me though. The first is, wow, the singer really does sound like James Hetfield doesn't he? The second and possibly more amazingly, is they haven't been sued by Metallica ...yet.
