Record company hacks looking for the next darkness (OH I'm a bitter, bitter cynic) or a genuine attempt to find fresh talent? that is the question. Hopefully it's the latter. Probably worth checking out for any bands though, looks like it could be a good platform for a bit of exposure

I seem to remember that HWCH has a registration fee also. And I don't mean that in a good way since, according to their PR, they got in 500 demos at something lik € 10 each but they only picked a fifth of those bands, many signed already. Ever get the feeling that you've been cheated ?

And people say there's no money to be made in the Irish music industry. Just rip off all the teenage rock bands as I assume that's what the remaining 400 bands were largely made up of

Yeah I really felt that HWCH didn't give half enough space to unknown acts , even their so called unknown acts were mostly established artists and as for the signed acts ?

well money is the name of the game from the off yeah? Jeez when you hear some of the bands getting covered its the only way to look at it and understand, you know, why people are working with them. I reckon this is a waste of time, its got fat middle aged dude lookin to scoop cash from kids and wannabes written all over it. good little earner though!

Its 80euro for the global battle of the bands!. Think its a bit steep for 2 songs.

Smells like Emergenza style rip off to me. My old band was offered a contract by the liscener of Emergenza and he was gonna rip us off. Full of eastern promise yet oh so villainous....A bit like Jafar from Aladdin.
