Industrial metal band Hell on Earth told fans that they would stage a live suicide on stage at their next concert. The person said that would commit suicide is a terminally ill member of Euthanasia Society. Billy (lead singer) then released to the press that he is running for St. Petersburg city council in district 3. The night the suicide show was supposed to happen. The owner of the club they were to play in, cut the gig. Hell on Earth soon told press that the suicide was to air on their official website www.hellonearth.net. The location was unknown but when asked why the suicide must happen, Billy said that withh running for city council, he wants to gain the right of physician assisted suicide for the terminally ill. The night the suicide was to air, hellonearth.net was down. The band hasnt brang the topic up in any interviews but i think Billy did this just to scare the media to help the right of physician assisted suicide. What do you think about this.

First of all I think they need a nice cup of tea and a sit down. http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/ Then maybe chill out to some Marvin Gaye or Al Green.

Suicide/Euthanasia are still really taboo subjects, surprising for our so called 'progressive' society - a lot of it comes down to religious beliefs I think. My own opinion would be that it's an overwhelmingly tragic situation if someone feels they would rather not be alive, but I have to conceed that ultimately a person has the right to make that decision for themselves - Who owns your body? Who owns your soul? As for this guy running for councellor so he can administer assited suicide, I find it pretty repellant. It's quite obvious that the whole thing is a publicity stunt for his band. A live internet show? How much dignity is there in that? What purpose could that possibly serve? If it meant that much to him why not run for council and not advertise the fact? Perhaps he sees himself as a bit of an angel of mercy, it seems more likely that he's an out and out egomaniac. To have to stoop that low to get attention for your band is pretty pathetic. And as for 'scaring the media' - come on, nothing scares the media
