Anyone on the board make the journey over? As per usual I watched courtesy of the TV vowing that I'll be there next year! Neil Young and Bruce Springteen put on what looked amazing shows, the energy of the Boss in particular was truly phenomenal, the steam rising off him mid 'River' Blur went down a treat also, Doves 'Pounding' and '10:03'sounded awesome Lisa Hannigan was her usual gorgeous self. Tom Jones was acting the randy old man etc etc Spinal Tap being Spinal Tap, excellent Bar having to look at Zane Lowe's over sized double-cranium, my only (beggers cant be choosers now) real criticism is Jo Whiley . She has never ever had anything remotely interesting to say and is only interested in the latest hair fad, and music she championed from the comfort of the studio's leather chair, courtesy of the tax payer...come on now, time to put her out to pasture PQ

I didn't make it. Must agree with you on Jo Wiley. I also cannot recall anything when she has [b]ever said anything of intersest or insightful, and I'm just thinking of her at Glastonbury 2009. It has always struck me as bizarre how so many bands seem to treat her with all this unquestioned respect.

While I'm on the back of the BBC, what was it I read at the weekend - the BBC sent 12 times more staff to cover Glastonbury than the Beijing Olympics? Gas. Any British tax payers 'round these parts? What do you make of that?!?

When you factor in travel and accomdation costs to cover a 3 day event a couple of hours down the road it compared to sending people to China the beeb probably gort far more bang for their Glasto buck

i hear ye. But the sad fact is that radio 1 holds an almost hypnotic control over the youths listening apparatus..whatever they say is good goes unquestioned and whatever Jo Wiley et al champion is bought / downloaded by the bucket load, just ask Gary Lightbody

I thought the beeb love Jo exactly because she doesn't have an opinion. By not having anything of interest to say, she has nothing controversial to say and, therefore, can't get the beeb in trouble.

Why bands hold her in such respect is fairly obvious, she sells records to the type of people who can't form opinions for themselves and have to take their opinions from other people.  She's a nice, safe, conduit.

As for you man Zane, he's just a pretty face isn't he?

I agree about Jo Whiley. She knows next to nothing about music, anyone can talk quickly about bands once they're told what to say. I do really like Zane Lowe, though.

I think Whiley and Lowe are total lick arses! Lauren Laverne knows her stuff and has good taste
