    What does anyone think?

I bought their album five days ago and I can't stop listening to it, it's the best debut album I've heard in donkeys. There. I said it.

Oh dear. Why? I'm aware there's a load of hype about them but imho they live up to it.

Oh and I'm just after seeing there was already a thread on this. Ooops.

There can never be too many threads about how lovely the Vampire Weekend album is. But do you always listen to debut albums inside farmyard animals? And what about reissues and old stuff?

Its odd, the last 'new' album I listened to as much was Ok Computer, 11 years ago (holy god). And I mean literally listening to the album a couple of times a day, like an adoring teenage girl would with her favourite boyband.

In terms of old stuff and reissues I have had similar love affairs with music from big pink and the brown album, Pet sounds, nebraska, the list goes on. (all of which I listened to on the interior of a sheep)

Not that I don't listen to any modern music, just I haven't been quite as excited about a new album in ages, is this happening with anyone else? Should I see someone about it?

I've only heard the singles, but they do seem to owe alot, soundwise, to 60's pop.
I like them, they seem ok. Might pick up the album if I see it cheap.

which is no bad thing, they're the sort of band that I'd happily listen to when played on the radio, but just couldn't be bothered buying the album, just not enough there to hook me in.

Saw them on Johnathan Ross a few weeks back... they gave in possibly the lamest live TV performance I've ever seen. Shit poor song, s**t poor delivery.

Yeah, I saw them a few months ago on mtv2 doing an acoustic version of Oxford Comma, and I thought it was fairly pants. Then last week I happened on the video for A-Punk on youtube and I've been hooked ever since.

I guess it's an each to their own type situation, though it never helps when a band is ridiculously hyped.

I just hope the second album is as good as the first...
