Yeah, it's curated by the quite brilliant Explosions In The Sky who I'm going to see in the Tripod tomorrow (sold out). Been waiting to see them for 4 years.

i'm a bit disappointed by that ATP lineup... as all other festivals are becoming slightly more alternative, ATP seems to be moving away from the leftfield and meeting them in the middle...

I'd sooner see The National play than Wolf Eyes.

Yes, 4 long years in the cold and the rain, the pitying eyes of passers by stabbing me with their glances like tiny daggers.

It will be worth it though when, about 9 minutes into 'It's Natural To Be Afraid', the guitars kick in like a Boeing crashing into a house and it's so earth-shatteringly incredible you feel yr heart is about to pop out of your chest and flop onto the floor, still beating.

That's if they play it live tomorrow, that is!

    Gig of the year already.

I thought the ATP 08 line-ups look great! The one which tempted me was the ATP vs Pitchfork one. OK, Pitchfork is quite possibly one of the most pretentious music websites, but they seemed to have pulled the finger out for this one.

It's a rare thing to have Ween, the Meat Puppets, the Dirty Projectors and Redd Kross on one bill. Maybe the Heineken Green Energy thingy will take a leaf out of ATPs book and get these bands over to Arlint for gigs around May?

and you'll see them in may in the olympia and you saw them about five times last year...

...it's not all about you, you, you...

...but it is about festivals keeping an individual sense of identity and catering for different people...

NOT gig of the year. They need to work on making their gigs a little more, erm, 'explosive'.

The job offer still stands so - the magazine will be based around the concept of making no constructive critical input whatsoever... just a good old fashioned, short slating is required eg., "Live review of Explosions in the Sky... this band needs a stick of dynamite up their arses. 2 out of 5. "

    Interested?

Good thinking - it'd save on rolling up notes.

the ATP vs Pitchfork one.... just had a look at the lineup... the lineup chosen by ATP is pretty good... The lineup chosen by Pitchfork less so...
