| | highlight was pet shop boys, absolutely amazing, poptastic show. gary numan was brilliant, only went in to keep my mate happy (long time fan even went to see him land his mitsubishi zero plane at baldonnel airshow years ago!) and was blown away - though halfway through the thought that he reminded me of ben stiller in zoolander caused havoc in my brain. belle and sebastian and mogwai very very good (i saw b&s years ago in manchester free trade hall and they were useless live then - way better now) broken social scene, hot chip, semifinalists, tapes'n'tapes all impressive, was worried at start of amadou and mariams set that no-one would be there but crowds streamed over for what was a really good set. massive attack were absolute muck, bored the bejaysus out of me.oh pj harvey was great when she played guitar but there were serious sound problems with her piano and drum machine yoke. great vibe to EP very few idiots, great food (yum pieminister) and security excellent too. roll on next year. | | | |

| | I was up the front for the YYYs and i cudnt criticise a thing, Karen O is an amazing front woman. And how could u possibly expect her to stay pitch perfect while pulling off the most energetic performance of the weekend??

Agree with Pol,luv the clown look and her banshee howling is her trademark.

| | Nah im not talkin about pitch perfect singing - if your a performer like that you obviously will have a few wobbles n s**t when your runnin around - but when there is quite an obviously massive strain on her voice to reach certain parts of the songs thats a bit bogey - ive seen their live performances on TV too and its always the same - a significant drop in vocal strength so much so that in large parts of the songs you can barely hear if she started singing. | | | |

DJ Shadow, PJ Harvey and Redneck Manifesto - amazing.
Broken Social Scene, Belle + Sebastian - enjoyed.
David Kitt + Bloc Party - utter s**te.
Yo La Tengo - 'little eyes' so lovely but overall disappointing.
The Frames - Same old crap, irritating fans and Glen s**teing on about nothing, sick of this band.
Had to leave early on Sunday - Missed YYY's, Rufus Wainwright, Hotchip + Cut Chemist.

Highlights for me were Bloc Party, YYY's, Rufus, BSS, Tapes n Tapes, Basement Jaxx, Massive attack, Neil Delamare, Joe Rooney.
In my drunken state I forgot to see the Rapture and repeatedly kicked myself on Monday when I finally realised I missed them. The weekend was so good I have a chest infection as a result. | |

| | To be honest I can't hear them saying it really, it was a Glen special but I'm not really up for Frames bashing etc. either, as you say if you don't like them stay away. It was funny on saturday, the The Big Tree stage area was Damien Rices home turf for the weekend but there was a guy wandering around in there on Saturday with a T-shirt with the slogan "Damien Rice is a c**t" ...... | | Didnt see rice play any of his 40 gigs over the weekend but im guessing the same 10 songs sounded the same at least the frames have a few albums. they sound a bit samey but at least there trying !!! In the interview glen was preety open about the songs and wasent precious in offering advice or dooging his own songs even admited that putting two old frames songs on his solo attempt was a bit silly and that he got a bit excited in the studio . It was nice to see the anti hansard persona . Rant over . | |

| In fairness Micheal Franti would definitly be prone to spouting this kind of remark but at least he's all hippy dippy. Glen Hansard is irish; you can't get away with that kind of remark if your irish, unless of course you're bono...
