Yer man from Galway who sang with Devendra is called Leon and he had a brief spell in a band called the Dirty Sweets. He's a really nice guy and I thought that his song wasn't too bad but maybe I’m biased. I had a great weekend although I ended up drinking way too much and sleeping very little and as a result I missed quite a few bands that I would have liked to check out. Out of the bands I did catch my favourites were Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Belle & Sebastian, Cut Chemist, PJ Harvey and Spank Rock. The only really bad act I saw all weekend was Gary Numan. With the exception of Cars and Are Friends Electric his whole set was comprised of sub Nine Inch Nails industrial nonsense. I'm surprised to hear about the tents being robbed as it seemed like a really lovely crowd. The weather could have being nicer, the queues for the food stalls were a bit long and there could have been more Portaloos but no gig is ever going to be perfect. Overall I had a great time. The food was lovely, the communal showers were far quicker then the private ones that were there last year, I saw some great bands and the security didn't frisk me once so I continuously smuggled booze into the concert area throughout the weekend. I have to say that the security weren't as sound as last year though. I saw a couple of them really losing the head in the male toilet section beside the Electric Arena. All the portaloos and the urinals were in use so a load of lads started p*ssing against the railings. All the railings surrounding the toilet area were wrapped in canvas so nobody else could see what they were doing and there were no women allowed in the area so I didn’t see any harm. But the security stormed in and started screaming abuse into the faces of the people who were taking a slash and manhandling them out of the area. It was all very over the top. Also when Belle & Sebastian invited a person up on stage the security pulled the wrong person out of the crowd. When they realised what they had done about three of them ganged up on him and removed him from the stage area with way more force then was necessary. They could do with chilling the f*ck out. B&S fans are hardly the most dangerous concert goers in the world now are they?

think my favourite part was hearing "anthem for a seventeen year old girl"... was so happy, i got off the sofa, made myself a cup of tea and treated myself to a jaffa cake... ...as for rte coverage, can't believe so many people are moaning about it... it was one of the most bizarre decisions ever to have that much coverage of a niche festival, anyway... wait for the ratings... i'd be really surprised if they're not abysmal... so... can't see them spending too much time repeating it... best you can hope for is small clips shoiwing up in other music shows i would guess

I am now a shell of a man, but I wouldn't have it any other way. What a weekend. The only bogey thing that happend the whole weekend was waking up in a puddle on Saturday morning but sure that's what u get wen u pitch your tent hammered in 2 minutes. Highlights for me were Hot Chip, The Rapture, 2 many DJ's, New Order. I also quite enjoyed Jim Noir's set in the Crawdaddy stage......roll on next year....anyone got any aspirin?

One thing that was very obvious too was the very relaxed attitude to cans, everyone was drinking them everywhere. I passed one of the main Heineken bars Sunday evening and there was no one in any of the queues, the bar staff were looking very bored.

Yeah the security was quite relaxed..... they didn't care if u brought drink into the venue they just didn't want it brought in glass bottles....and sure fair play to them wha!

security were good i though, no urinals in campsite was just very silly though. They probably should have roped off walkways too, would be better i think if all the campsited opened together and you could just pick yourself. Obviously with people advising on how busy it was. All in all though, by far the best festival experience ive had in ireland, very impressive, n roll on next year!

Friday Damien Rice & Lisa Hannigan - Big Tree Vevitier - Big Tree - cool rock Jape - Big Tree - rocked the crowd, Floating went down a storm Devendra Banhart - Main Stage - Pretty good, liked the dancers and stuff, still he's an artist for a small stage not a main stage I think Antony & The Johnsons - Main Stage - God not sure about him, he turns every song into a wail and then when you have people standing beside you trying to sing along in similar type wail it all gets very messy. He was very nervous too. Needs to be seen in a smaller venue I think, his album is enjoyable but I wouldn't want to hear another album by him. PJ Harvey - Crawdaddy - ridiculously big crowd, I was way back couldn't get into it, she claimed to have gone to the toilet 3 times just before coming on because she was so nervous playing solo and it wasn't number one, thanks PJ for the info. Massive Attack - Main Stage - enjoyed them, not outstanding though Saturday Laura Izibor - Crawdaddy - nice slow start to the day everyone sitting down, great version of Crazy, she's got loads of charisma Jape - Foggy Notions - scrathcy voice, partied out from the night before I think Jim Noir - Crawdaddy - ah gotta like Jim and his infectious pop The Skalites - Main Stage / BSS - Electric Picnic - BSS just don't do it for me live at all Tapes n' Tapes - Foggy Notions - fantastic, Insistor was the highlight of the festival I think Tilly & The Wall - Foggy Notions - hot, hot, hot, love the music, love the girls too! Belle & Sebastian - Electric Arena - enjoyed them, no surprises Yo La Tengo - Foggy Notions - caught second half their set, really good SFA Bingo - Foggy Notions - their brilliant selves as ever, a little short though after an extra long sound check Damien Rice and Friends - Big Tree - Damien joined by all his buddies has his little Live Aid moment Sunday Alabam 3 - Main stage - The sun comes out and we get Woke Up This Morning and Ain't Goin To Goa Aberfeldy - Foggy Notions - a bit iffy I think, supported James Blunt, says it all Semifinalists - foggy Notions - excellent set with a I Wanna Dance With Somebody cover thrown in too Blue Nile - Main stage - caught a bit of this, nothing to get excited about Long Blondes - Foggy Notions - like them a lot Richard Hawley - Crawdady - Enjoyed his set King Creosote - Foggy Notions - not bad, good music Amadou & Mariam - Main Stage - pretty cool, stayed for a few songs and their big one whatever its called, perfect act for the Main Satge afternoon slot. Rufus Wainwright - Electric Arena - great as usual, impressive to hold the attention of a crowd as big as the Electric Arena playing solo on piano, not many artists could do it, his cover of Hallelujah is just getting better and better Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Main Stage - electric....lived up to my expectations, greta to hear Maps too Pet Shop Boys - Electric Arena - A pop masterclass, super set, the crowd was eating out of the palm of their hand Basement Jaxx - Main Stage - Dance your heart out The Frames - Big Tree surprise to close the festival, not very exciting really, same old thing. To top it off Glen says at the end after singing Skylarkin, noboddy applaud just walk away keep singing, walk away, don't applaud, don't let the festival end.........cringe

Fantastic weekend, finally a festival where the music isn't the main and sole attraction. Can't really pick out highlights but was great to wander around and hitting the bars in body and soul and chilling, or hanging out at lost vagueness knocking back vodka. I can't really find any faults besudes too few portaloos but wasn't too bad. I just legged it to the least popular stage at the time and most of the time there was no queue. I thought Yeah Yeah Yeah were amazing, great show and fantastic atmosphere. two thumbs up. PJ Harvey wasn't overly impressed. Played too many new songs which is not what you want at a festival. Hot Chip were excellent as was BSS. New order great. Caught the last two songs of the Pet Shop Boys (never heard about the change of time) and they sound great. Great festival, superbly organised, thought security were sound. Nice food, good value for money and hardly a logo in sight! It was a bit like a mini glastonbury, a lot of the stalls and stages were from there.

I had VERY high expectations for Yeah Yeah Yeahs and they were met. I was right at the front and couldn't believe how amazing they were. The sound was brilliant and Karen O was almost subhuman she was so good. AWESOME! Bloc Party was excellent also. The lights looked really cool through the rain and Modern Love was fantastic. Hot Chip were good too. Other highlights: Delorentos, Dublin Gospel Choir, New Order, Basement Jaxx. uh, actually can't remember who else I saw because my brain is still seeping out my ears. Silent Disco was fantastic, as were the forrest/woods thing will all the little clearings and mini stagey type things. Thought the setting was just fantastic, way nicer and bigger than last year, spread around really well. Security was very helpful as were the gardai. The food was lovely too. Sin e.

Yeah was up the front too for YYY, what a show! Karen O, proper rocking out. The little stage in the woods was brill, forgot to mention that as was the Body and soul area, some really nice touches. Wasn't impressed with bloc party, thought they were rather flat and a bit dull. Anyone go to the comedy stage? Anytime I walked by it was rubbish, besides David O'Doherty. One guy was talking about how Germans leave their towels on sunbeds, hi lar ious.

Great weekend! The set up of the whole place was so good, cudda stayed for a week. Anyone catch The Things?? They were insane. Also loved Jape & The Redneck Manifesto. Jape and 'Kitsers' little bond is gas. Thought the YYYs were amazing, Karen O is an incredible performer. Gang of Four were also insane and although im not their biggest fan, i thought Bloc Party put on a great show. Was it just me or did Damien Rice play about 6 sets??

Did anybody go see DJ Shadow? If so, any use?

Yeah went to Shadow, wasn't great at all. Heard the bad reviews about him this summer but some friends insisted on going. Left after 20mins, around the time he brought one of his guests on. But we did hear the rest of his set from the bed in the Bollywood bar. He sounded ok and not as bad as the reviews he got. Played some tracks off entroducing.

Russian Futurists didnt play at all unfortunatly. i went along for give a man a kick who were excellent but there was no sign of the Russian Futurists after them. They may have played elsewhere but no one i asked seemed to know.

Hot Chip were excellent, had the whole tent doing the hands in the air dance. They got a crazy reaction to some of their stuff. Definitely a highlight of the weekend
