Since it's now December and the new year is quickly coming along, has anyone got any solid predictions of acts that will be worth noting in 2006? I'll start it off with a few...... The Kooks, White Rose Movement, Havana Guns, Matt Costa, Kelley Stoltz, Holly Throsby, The Grates, Youth Group, The 88, Copeland, The Like, The Village Green, The Writing Birds, The Bleedin Bleedins, Envelope, The Marshals, Director, Channel One, The Immediate, The Chapters, The Mighty Stef, 747s.

Channel One/CH-1 definitely get my vote as an Irish act to watch. I absolutely adore Havana Guns, definitely one of my favourite unsigned/new bands, whether they'll be "big" or not is another matter of course but I really hope so. I had the pleasure of catching part of one of their gigs in London over a year ago. They weren't even a full band then, just singer, guitar, keyboards, no drummer, no bass player and they were still great

Never heard of 'em but if there was ever a case for changing your band name while it's not too late, thats it

Never said it was Mutch, or at least not what I meant to say. Poor grammar on my part? Speak in Yodaisms, I do.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (although they're already 'big' now) The Immediate, if they find the key to whatever press they've locked themselves into Surefire There's loads of others that haven't hit the mainstream-Kaiser Chief style, but that I won't mention because they have already achieved considerable success in some sections of musoville. Bands that will dissapear without a trace: The Departure, The Bravery, Test Iciles, Ordinary Boys, Bell X1
