Was anyone at the gig in The Village last night? When is the station going to be live on air? Do people reckon it will be any use?

One of the best things for me about phantom was the ability to txt in and get a song aired fairly easily without much delay. There was no real playlist However, i imagine that will have to change now. Also they will be obliged to have 1/2 hr news reports and more advertising between ads. I hope it does work, but it will be hard for them to get a formula that mirrors the previous formula

not so sure about that date - the crybaby losers Zed FM (niall stokes, dermot hanrahan, angela FMC dorgan and bob geldof) have launched a High Court action against the BCI for awarding the licence to Phantom. Zed are alleging that they were "shocked" and "aghast" that the BCI gave the award to a bunch of ex-pirates. Considering that Stokes in particular was well savvy about Phantom's roots, this is really rich. Bad losers, I say I tell u, all this really really really wants me to go out and give stokes a good dig on the mush. When the man was in charge of the IRTC (what the BCI was until they changed their name), he moaned and groaned about getting more Irish stuff on the radio and more room for alternative rock. He did NOTHING. No, thats wrong, he gave a licence to Century and we all know how that one went. Now, the BCI do what many consider to be their best ever decision and Stokes cries foul. That man......he cracks me up

half hour news reports, really? I thought BCI just makes people have around a quarter of their broadcast time as 'current affairs' (so 15 mins per hour) I don't think enough stations that have a special interest (like Phantom) take advantage of what 'news' can actually be. You don't have to report on actual current events, like plagiarising the RTE website. They could just have "music news" bulletins.

Stokes is full of sh*t. He’s constantly giving out about political corruption and nepotism and yet he’s got nearly every member of his family on the Hot Press payroll. It’s bad enough that he’s a hypocrite without been a sore loser as well.
