4 Replies and 2037 Views Bob Dylan in the Point    2037  4 Started by  Vent My Spleen Anyone see Dylan in the Point last night I am a Dylan fan but have to say it was pretty brutal. His band are really tight but he was very disapointing. His voice sounded like someone using a voice box. He also played piano all night, no acoustic stuff at all. I suppose the real problem is his tendancy to re-arrange the music so it is unrecognisable from the original. This is fine except when your voice is gone and nobody can make them out from the lyrics. Not a patch on his show in the...

3 Replies and 1885 Views Ryan Adams Gig last night    1885  3 Started by  Eric Did anyone go to see Ryan Adams in the Olympia last night I felt overall it was great – the guy is a great performer, his voice is incredible live and the band were very tight. However … He did not play one song from 'Gold' or 'Demolition' The crowd screamed for ‘Nuclear’ all night but he wasn’t listening. I was stunned when the gig ended. As far as I could tell his whole set consisted of songs from the 2 new albums which came out last month - by the way they sounded fantastic. What are ...

1 Replies and 1863 Views Snow Patrol in the TBMC    1863  1 Started by  Eric Ahoy! Anyone catch Snow Patrol at the Temple Bar Music Centre last night They were incredible, so much energy, the new stuff sounded fantastic. Its rare you see musicians getting into and enjoying their music so much, definetly rubs off on the crowd. In my opinion they're the best live band around these days. I also liked the cover of Rice's '...Can't take my eyes off you..' ....Nice Can't wait to see them again.

It was f**kin brilliant. There was only about 40 people at it because alot of Dublin gig go'ers were at the 'Interpol' gig in The Village. They are a 3 piece band from Detroit. Suppport on the night was from La Rocca who played a great set.
