anyone at the Whelan's gig last night? The woman was amazing. Rocked out. Great banter too (a funny Canadian shocker!) . And what a brilliantly tight band. I'd recommend picking up 'Back To Me' if yeee haven't got it yet.

did anyone see the support guy? emmett tinley? i got a copy of the new album and its fantastic. i normally hate singer-songwriters with a passion i usually reserve for manchester united fans but this is quite striking, graceful and beautiful. yes, thats a recommendation folks re kathleen edwards. loved "Failer", must get new album

Like I said in the gig guide this week, Tinley is one of the finest vocalists this country has ever produced. However I'm not crazy about him as a songwriter.

I was there! Brilliant, brilliant gig, up there with Doves as gig of the year so far. An amazing set from beginning to end, no mid-set slump or fillers. What a sound! Really tight band, as Una said, Jim Bryson (slide-g, keyboards) and Colin Cripps (geetar) are just great musicians. They certainly rocked out! Knew she was meant to be great live but I was still blown-away! Buy 'Failer' and 'Back to me' everyone but to be honest live is where Kathleen and her band really shine. Support act( he seems to be supporting everybody!!!) Emmett Tinley certainly is one of the great 'voices' in the country right now. He played 3 tracks from his old band THe Prayer Boat and they seemed far superior to his new solo stuff, though. If yr just coming to him now, you should check 'Polichinelle', Prayer Boat's last album.

Yes it was such an enjoyable night - great gig. She's great live - saw her last time she was her. Loved that she played lots from old album Failer, hate people who just play their latest albums. Disappointed she didn't play Unknown Legend - she does a great live version of it.
