    Was at this last night. thought both bands were deadly, especially passion pit. very 80's vibe off them

    does anyone else here think whelans is an absolutely horrible venue when there's a big crowd there?

    yeah, PP were great, didn't think much of Hockey. Agree that Whelans is awful when it's packed like that. Everywhere is bad when it's jammed but Whelans is particularly unpleasant, esp those bloody steps leading to the bar. They let too many people in. No chance if a fire breaks out, another Stardust in the making.

    yeah, completely agree with you. don't know how it gets a license. didn't even drink at the gig. it's just not worth it

    Dude that's just not true.  Unicron is my name and the fire trade is my game.  The doors off to the right of the venue plus the door at the back up the little stairs that no one except staff and the bands use are perfectly capable of allowing quick and safe egress in the event of a emergency.
