Any thoughts on this Memphis band? I don't think they tour Europe very much, except maybe support slots, so I guess they slip under the radar a bit. I have two of their recent albums (of the past five years anyway), Time Bomb Highschool and Too Much Guitar and I think they're both excellent. If you like your rock & roll noisy and fast then Too Much Guitar is an absolute gem that harks back to Nuggets type garage rock. Time Bomb Highschool is a little more on the power-pop side and shows frontman Cartwright to be a great songwriter in a sort of Stonsey/Ramones style. Both are never too far from the stereo.

Greg Cartwright was also involved with Shang-Ri La Mary Wells recent album and Detroit Cobras' Seven Easy Pieces.

The debut album is a bit tricky to find, just wondering is it worth tracking down?
Anyone ever see them live? I believe they did a tour in the U.S with the Detroit Cobras a year or two ago.

How does previous incarnation the Oblivians stack up?

The reigning sound are a class band that really the whole world should know about but doesnt for some reason or another, all their albums are class starting with break up break down, its a lot mellower than the next two, you should get your hands on it if you can, also you should check out gregs other band the compulsive gamblers, their classic "crystal gazing look amazing" would be similar to too much guitar, in my opinion vital garage rock n roll!!

On another note if you like gre and the reigning sound you should check out king khan & the bbq show "whats for dinner"
and Mark Sultan " sultanic Verses", these two albums have only recently been issued on in the red records(reigning sounds label)
they are class garage rock and roll soul!!.
