Saw this guy support Cold War Kids on Tuesday night. He blew them off the stage IMO, and yesterday I picked up the album in Tower records.
It's one of those album's thats so beautiful it absorbs you and takes hold of you. I can see how it beat Arcade Fire to this year's Polaris Prize.

Anyone heard her new single It's the most relevant piece of music I've heard from her in a LONG time - the last few Banshees and Creatures releases were fairly dismal, but this is great. Very remeniscent of PJ Harvey's power chord stuff (as opposed to her piano led tunes) - a case of teacher turns student methinks!

Anyone gonna check these guys out on Saturday New album - Let's Stay Friends - is brilliant. One of the best of the year so far for me. I hear lead singer Tim Harrington usually starts off gigs dressed as a pirate and winds up naked by the end of the night sometimes serenading a sock puppet! Anyone see 'em live before

Such a seriously underrated band and I can never comprehend why. What exactly do they have to do to be as respected and loved as The Arcade Fire! It's especially strange because everyone who has ever seen them live falls in love. That's genuinely all it takes for it to click.
Anyway, that's Electric Picnic's job.. For now, this album is perfect. So buy it!
And watch the 'making of' film that comes with it... It's hilarious and really interesting to watch it all coming together.
