1 Replies and 3884 Views Patrick Watson - Close To Paradise  3884  1 Started by  Garret Saw this guy support Cold War Kids on Tuesday night. He blew them off the stage IMO, and yesterday I picked up the album in Tower records. It's one of those album's thats so beautiful it absorbs you and takes hold of you. I can see how it beat Arcade Fire to this year's Polaris Prize.

2 Replies and 5869 Views Siouxsie Soux  5869  2 Started by  JamesT Anyone heard her new single It's the most relevant piece of music I've heard from her in a LONG time - the last few Banshees and Creatures releases were fairly dismal, but this is great. Very remeniscent of PJ Harvey's power chord stuff (as opposed to her piano led tunes) - a case of teacher turns student methinks!

2 Replies and 3928 Views Les Savy Fav  3928  2 Started by  Protein biscuit Anyone gonna check these guys out on Saturday New album - Let's Stay Friends - is brilliant. One of the best of the year so far for me. I hear lead singer Tim Harrington usually starts off gigs dressed as a pirate and winds up naked by the end of the night sometimes serenading a sock puppet! Anyone see 'em live before

8 Replies and 4042 Views Bruce Springsteen  4042  8 Started by  starbelgrade ... normally, I can't stand the guy - whenever I see him singing on the box, he reminds me of a constipated lumberjack, but that new single 'Radio Nowhere' is a cracking tune.

2 Replies and 3908 Views The New Pornographers  3908  2 Started by  Yossarian Hey, just wondering what people think of their new album 'Challangers'. Just giving it a first listen and i like what I hear so far. It seems a little darker than their last. No signs of any Irish gig dates though which is a disappointment.

4 Replies and 3887 Views The Polyphonic Spree - The Fragile Army  3887  4 Started by  vb7000 Such a seriously underrated band and I can never comprehend why. What exactly do they have to do to be as respected and loved as The Arcade Fire! It's especially strange because everyone who has ever seen them live falls in love. That's genuinely all it takes for it to click. Anyway, that's Electric Picnic's job.. For now, this album is perfect. So buy it! And watch the 'making of' film that comes with it... It's hilarious and really interesting to watch it all coming together.
