Howdy all, I'm just posting a message here to say that I have lost complete respect for David Gray. He really is taking the White Ladder thing too far. How long more is he going to tour/promote the one successful album? Instead of releasing under-produced songs he didn't see fit to put on albums years ago and calling them EPs, he should return the favour to his fans by coming up with new material, before he alienates them altogether. He should stop riding the one accomplishment forever. Anybody agree/disagree? Q

Easy does it Q2...I think the poor bastard had it hard for long enough to forgive him milking it when he gets the chance... It's not a tumor

A fair point, but I reckon he should capitalise on it instead of milking it. After all, how many David Gray fans are crying out for new material? He must realise this himself.

well milking it or not you can take it as a given that all his new stuff is going to be exactly the same with the same old themes, I really hope I'm proved wrong. bab.

In fairness, Mr Gray was ready to record a follow up to White Ladder when it finally took off for him. He's since had to promote it all over europe. When he recorded it he had no label, no money and no management. I don't mind if he milks it a little. I wouldn't be expecting any sgt pepper type musical progressions for his next album though...

i have friends in his record company and they played it for me, wouldnt give me a copy of it though the bastards, but it is very good, i think that this album is going to really capitalise on the success of white ladder and make him a megastar world wide
