Thought you guys might be able to help me out. A friend of mine says they played here in Ireland circa October 1998. Although I can't find any record of this on the net, I did come across it in my reading of the 33 1/3 book. Can anyone shed anylight as to the dates and venue?

Yeah, I asked a while back on the E6 forum, but nobody knew. I read it in the book too, so I'd believe it. And Whelan's sounds right.

I would've been 11, sitting at home, probably doing nothing. I knew I felt something in the air!

Yeah i was in 3rd or 4th class at the time. its strange that something like that could happen without you knowing and then years later you wish you could have been there

yeah they did. they supported sparklehorse in whelans. was at the gig but didn't know them at the time. I only got into Neutral Milk Hotel about 2 years. One day since I was looking through old ticket stubs and found my sparklehorse ticket with support from NMH. Was kinda shocked cause I don't really remember them at all.

No, Neutral Milk Hotel NEVER played Ireland.
I went along to that Sparklehorse gig expecting to see them, and instead we got Mic Christopher (no disrespect).

That's why you don't remember them, Grizzly!

Similar thing happened with Foo Fighters in the SFX in '95.
Ticket said Built To Spill supporting.
    We got Fluffy instead.
    What a jip....

    Fight Like Apes.

Theyre playing at Pandamonium. Should be an amazing gig.

I go to most Pandamonium's, tune wise it's the best club night in Dublin, though I'll probably go less often now that it's running weekly. Hopefully it won't be one of the "stinks of piss" nights in the hub when you play.

Actually did you play the Hub the same night as Dino Jr. were in the TBMC? I may have caught the end of your set. One song was 5 seconds long, and it was played thrice.

Hah! I wish. But we did play there with LOST before and played a 4 second song thrice.
We're on myspace anyway if u wanna check it out.

To my shame i havnt been to a pandamonium yet but loreanas a great dj so id imagine its pretty good. Ive no excuse tho now, as u say, its weekly.

Fingers crossed its not a " stinks of piss" night in the Hub. No one likes those.

It's weird that the book has them down for Whelan's then. Any idea why they cancelled? Or if maybe they played some other time?

Neutral Milk Hotel are incredible as are the apples. Most elephant 6 bands have something going for them. Olivia Tremor Control would be my personal favorites. The apples gig is going to be incredible as the new album is great
