| | Hmm covers a favourite when your really into a band and dying to hear them play anything new (well until the next release anyway)
Damien Rice's live medley version of - When doves cry(Prince),Babe I'm Gonna Leave You(Led Zeppelin), Glorybox(Portishead)
Jeff Buckley - If You See Her, Say Hello (Bob Dylan)
Jeff Buckley - The Way Young Lovers Do (Van Morrison)
Mark Geary - Complicated (Avril Lavigne) I know :-) but seriously it's kool
Bell X1 - Hey Yea (out kast) krazy.
Ian Brown - Billie Jean (One of Michael Jackson's writer dudes)
Live - Supernatural (No clue who did this originally)
Frank Black & Glen Hansard - Aul Triangle (No Idea) think of the band name possibilities, the Pixie Frames or The Framing Pixies?? Should Wayne Coin look out?
Mundy's version of Shakira's wherever whenever but only the live version on Today fm cause he fairly well spat the song out and his own additions made for a way more interesting listen (lucky that my tits are small and humble etc.)

| | Aretha Franklin - Bridge Over Troubled Water
Dusty Springfield - Anyone Who Had A Heart, I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself, The Look Of Love and Spooky
Issac Hayes - The Look of Love
Massive Attack - Light my Fire
Spiritualized - Oh Happy Day
Primal Scream - Some Velvet Morning (more a remodel then a cover...)
Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love - I know, I know..but I love this song (although I like Gloria Jones' better then Soft Cell's but this has the edge)
Johnny Cash - Hurt (from American Recordings series)
Beck - Cry me a River

| | Dusty Springfield, nice choice Dromed, Welcome back by the way. However I'll see your nothern soul/60s pop flavoured entry and raise you one: Sharon Tandy. Just got her recently issued compilation and everthing on it pretty much counts as a cover as she didn't generally write her own stuff. Every track is an absolute gem but I'll only include a few that were covered by other artists:
Sharon Tandy:
Our Day will come (Stax reworking of a motown standard)
World (Bee Gees, when they still wrote pop, before they turned Disco)
Things Get Better (Eddy Floyd)
Stay With Me (Lorraine Ellison)
Can add a few more covers? Ok this is really obvious but hey, I like it and I like the original too and its not a deliberately "ironic" indie cover:
Sonic Youth - Superstar (The Carpenters)
And if you can like a cover without having heard the original, I'd like to add:
Smashing Pumpkins - Clones (Alice Cooper)
