Brian Fantana~The Smell Of Desire (My Lady)

christ, nearly fell off my seat

60% of the time Fantana's music works everytime

Have you heard any of Champ Kind's stuff? He was a contemporary of Fantana's in the San Diego 'New Alt-Folk' scene of the late Seventies. His debut 'WHAMMY!!!' is a masterpiece but an experimental follow-up 'Dorothy Mantooth's Seafood Dinner' didn't fare as well and Champ spiraled down into a drink and drugs-fuelled depression before finding Jesus and returning to his old job as a sports presenter for a local San Diego TV channel.

WHAMMY - classic...rumours around the greater St Diego area at the time lent to the belief that the great Champ indeed once took the sprightly Mrs Mantooth out, showed her an amazing time and never called her after...wow

with being a learned observer of this era, you'll be familiar with

Brick Tamla-motowns - I love lamp

&

The Burg - Scotchie Scotch Scotch(down into my belly)

Yeah, in typical easily confused by simple things fashion, I thought she was playing the 15th, which would have been a bad night for me, but only today realised it was the 16th, though I already had tickets to see Ladytron on the 16th so was at that instead. No matter, the Ladytron gig was class, and who knows, maybe I'll catch her playing in Germany sometime.
